What could players encounter?
Wild Pokémon
Niantic announced event-themed Pokémon in the wild, including the possibility of encountering Shiny Wiglett in Pokémon GO for the first time. That wording indicates a possibility, not a guaranteed encounter; the announcement does not establish shiny odds.
Field Research
Event Field Research could award Stardust, Rare Candy, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. These were possible rewards, not guaranteed outcomes for every task or player.
