Published figures such as 80- or 110-draw guarantees describe particular systems, not a universal rule for every contract or region.
Where to check the rates for a Contract
SEGA’s support guidance is direct: “Go to the in-game contract screen and tap ‘Drop Rates’ to view the details.” SEGA support: Where can I check the distribution rate of gacha?
Use the Drop Rates details for the specific Contract you plan to draw on. Rates, featured pools, guarantee wording, and banner availability can change, and a rule listed for one Contract should not be assumed to apply to another. No current live rate percentages are established here, so check the game rather than relying on an old guide or a figure from another region.
What pity means in P5X
Pity is a draw counter that can guarantee a higher-rarity result after enough draws without one. A featured-character guarantee is a separate question: a Contract might guarantee a 5-star first, while requiring another 5-star—or a larger total number of draws—to guarantee its featured character. Check both thresholds and how the banner handles a 5-star that is not featured.

Their pools, currencies, rates, counters, and guarantees can differ. The term “pity” alone does not tell you which rules a particular Contract uses.
What the documented 80-draw system guaranteed
In an operations letter dated 17 August 2025, the Persona5: The Phantom X Operations Team described the then-current main Contract system for its Japanese and Western versions. If a player had not received a 5-star in the previous 79 draws, the 80th draw guaranteed one. If that 5-star was not the featured “Most Wanted” Phantom Thief, the next 5-star was guaranteed to be the Most Wanted character. Persona5: The Phantom X Operations Team, operations letter
This is a dated description of a particular system, not a guarantee that every current banner uses an 80-draw threshold. The same letter cautioned that Newcomer Contracts and Arms Deals could use different systems.
How the described 110-draw guarantee differed
The same 2025 operations letter discussed a newer Contract system in which the featured 5-star was guaranteed on the 110th draw, after 109 draws without one. It said this system’s counter was tracked separately from the existing system and that rates and draw counts differed. Because the letter described a planned change, it does not establish that this option is currently available in every region.

PC Gamer’s 26 December 2025 report likewise described an improved banner that guaranteed the character after 110 pulls, in the context of player-feedback-driven changes to the Japanese and English versions. PC Gamer, interview with the P5X team Regional rules have evolved, so check the Contract screen in your own version before planning around that threshold.

It depends on the counter type. The operations letter explicitly said the described 110-draw system and the older system had separate counters. A third-party guide updated 9 December 2025 reports that counters carry between banners that use the same pity type, while different types remain separate. Prydwen: P5X gacha system guide
That guide is a dated secondary source, not a substitute for the current Contract terms. Before switching banners, inspect the in-game details for the counter’s scope: whether it is shared with another banner, limited to that Contract type, or separate. Do not assume a partial count transfers just because two banners feature characters.
How to compare two Contracts before spending draws
Check the applicable Drop Rates details and compare the actual terms, not just the banner artwork or its headline guarantee:
- Featured certainty: Is the featured character guaranteed at a stated threshold, or can a 5-star be another character?
- Thresholds: How many draws can it take to reach a 5-star, and how many to guarantee the featured character?
- Counter scope: Does the counter carry over to another banner of the same type, or is it separate?
- Pool and currency: Which items or characters can appear, and what currency does the Contract use?
- Regional availability: Is this Contract actually offered in your version of the game?
Prydwen’s December 2025 guide describes a 110-draw targeted featured-character option, an 80-draw character option with a 50/50, a 70-draw weapon banner with a 50/50, an 80-draw permanent banner, and a one-time permanent-character selection after 300 cumulative pulls. Treat these as secondary, time-sensitive descriptions; confirm any threshold, counter behavior, and availability in-game before relying on them.
