How to start Chie’s Social Link
Chie’s Social Link begins automatically on April 18. You do not need to reach a Courage level or complete another task first. In Persona 4 Golden, Social Links progress through hangouts and dialogue choices; choosing responses that earn points can reduce the number of in-game days needed to rank up. A Persona matching the Chariot Arcana increases the dialogue-point bonus, but it is not required to start the link.
Where and when to find Chie
Chie is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, except on rainy days. Her location depends on the day:
- Weekdays: School Rooftop.
- Sundays and holidays: South end of the Shopping District.
These are the availability and location details given in RPG Site’s 2020 walkthrough. The cited sources do not establish a difference in Chie’s Social Link mechanics between the PC edition and other versions of Persona 4 Golden. ATLUS lists Windows and Steam among the game’s platforms on its official Persona 4 Golden site.

How to choose dialogue and manage Courage
The choices below are from RPG Site’s Chie walkthrough. Its listed point values assume you have a Chariot Persona in your stock when you meet her; without one, dialogue bonuses are slightly lower. Responses not mentioned here are not identified as affecting rank progress.
Courage gates some of the highest-point answers, not the Social Link as a whole. In several cases, another answer earns the same listed points without the Courage requirement.

Ranks 1→2 and 2→3
- Rank 1→2: “Right.” or “I’m cool with it.” gives +3; “I guess so…” gives +2.
- Rank 2→3: “It’s cute.” gives +3 and requires Level 3 Courage. “It’s very feminine.” also gives +3 without that requirement; “It’s hilarious.” gives +2.
Chie learns Rebellion at Rank 2.
Ranks 3→4 and 4→5
- Rank 3→4, first prompt: “Quit bragging on her.” gives +3 and requires Level 3 Courage; “None of your business.” gives +2.
- Rank 3→4, next prompt: “Hold Chie’s hand.” gives +3 and requires Level 3 Courage. “Crack a joke.” also gives +3 without that requirement; “Badmouth Takeshi.” gives +2.
- Rank 4→5: “You look so happy,” “Looks delicious,” and “Wolfing it down, huh?” are each listed at +3. For the following prompt, “I’ll look out for her,” “I worry more for you,” and “Yukiko isn’t that weak” are each listed at +3.
Chie learns Ice Boost after the Rank 3→4 rank-up.
Ranks 5→6 and 6→7
- Rank 5→6: “Exactly.” and “Of course.” are each listed at +3.
- Rank 6→7: Either answer to the first prompt is acceptable, though the first option requires Level 4 Courage. “It’s not trouble” gives +2 for the next prompt.
Chie learns Revolution after Rank 5→6.
Ranks 7→8 and 8→9
- Rank 7→8: “That’s the first step,” “There’s still time,” and “It’s hard to face yourself” are each listed at +3.
- Rank 8→9: Any answer to the first prompt is fine. At the next prompt, “You protected that kid” and “It all turned out okay” each give +3.
Chie learns Bufula after Rank 7→8.
Rank 8→9: choose romance or friendship
The final choice at Rank 8→9 determines whether the relationship becomes romantic. Choose “Will you be my girlfriend?” to start the romance path. Choose “I’m counting on you” to keep the relationship on the friendship path. The first prompt in this rank-up does not affect the route.

Rank 9→10 and the Rank 10 reward
For the romance path, RPG Site lists “It was messier,” “It was about the same,” and “That sounds good” at +3; the remaining listed prompts accept either option. For the friendship path, the guide lists “Certainly!” and “We can be more than that” for the closing prompt.
At Rank 10, Chie gives you the Wristband key item. It enables fusion of Suzuka Gongen and Futsunushi.
