Look across the 16 words for pairs or trios that seem related, then test whether a fourth word fits the same idea. Connections asks you to sort the grid into four groups of four; misleading overlaps and wordplay can make a plausible grouping a decoy. The color labels run from yellow, generally the easiest, to purple, generally the hardest, as described in the game overview.
For this puzzle, think of shades, skipping an event, a one-sided win, and words that can come before “wheel.”

How the puzzle works
Players select four words they believe share a connection and submit the group. The game has 16 words arranged into four groups of four, and the Try Hard Guides answer guide for #287 says players can make up to four mistakes. A daily puzzle resets at midnight local time; after finishing, players can view their results.
