REANIMAL is a horror adventure from Tarsier Studios, released worldwide on February 13, 2026. Its premise follows a brother and sister trying to rescue their missing friends and escape their island. You can play alone or with another person locally or online, making the choice of setup central to whether it fits you.

What is REANIMAL?

REANIMAL is a horror adventure developed by Tarsier Studios and published by THQ Nordic. The official description sets up a brother and sister returning to the island they once called home to find missing friends and get away.

Tarsier Studios is also known as the creator of Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, but REANIMAL is a separate game, not a title in the Little Nightmares series. In THQ Nordic’s February 13, 2026 launch announcement, Tarsier managing director Oliver Merlöv described REANIMAL as “a clear reflection of who Tarsier is” and of the team’s shared sensibility.

Can you play REANIMAL solo or in co-op?

Yes. REANIMAL supports single-player, online co-op, and shared-screen or split-screen co-op. The publisher also identifies couch co-op as an option.

What this review can—and cannot—establish

The official game description and platform listings establish the premise, available play modes, release platforms, and rating. They do not provide evidence for a scored verdict on atmosphere, pacing, controls, or how well the game performs on each platform. No comparative frame-rate, resolution, loading-time, or feature-parity figures are established here, so those should not be assumed when selecting an edition.
