PC Guide also quoted a pre-launch statement from the developers saying that a Friend’s Pass was planned but that availability on day one could not be guaranteed. That warning helps explain the gap between players’ expectations and the launch experience, but it does not establish what time the pass became available afterward.
What is known about the PC Friend’s Pass now?
A later Steam listing snapshot includes a Friend’s Pass. It confirms that a pass is listed, but does not document the precise time it appeared on PC or identify a deployment announcement. It would therefore be inaccurate to give a specific rollout time or attribute the change to a particular update based on these sources.

For players deciding whether to buy the game together, the launch-day reports establish that PC players complained the pass was unavailable at launch. Tarsier Studios announced the February 13, 2026 release date on August 2, 2024. Its announcement also discussed a demo for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and noted that the demo was not fully functional cross-platform; that demo detail does not establish the retail game’s launch-day Friend’s Pass availability. THQ Nordic published REANIMAL, developed by Tarsier Studios. In the publisher’s launch announcement, Tarsier Studios Managing Director Oliver Merlöv said, “We can’t wait for them to play REANIMAL!”
