Realm Royale Reforged’s developers documented work on Switch crashes in their patch notes: “Addressed multiple causes of the game crashing on switch.” That confirms they had identified and addressed more than one cause, but the notes do not say every crash was fixed. The game’s servers later shut down on February 17, 2025, and Realm Royale is no longer available to play.
What did the developers say about Switch crashes?
The Realm Royale Reforged developers’ patch notes explicitly state: “Addressed multiple causes of the game crashing on switch.” This is direct evidence that the team had recognized crash causes on Nintendo Switch and made changes intended to address them. The note does not list the individual causes, give a crash rate, or claim that all crashes were eliminated. It supports a historical acknowledgment and corrective action, not a guarantee that a particular player’s crash was fixed.
Can you still play Realm Royale?
No. Evil Mojo Games announced on October 18, 2024 that Realm Royale would be sunset, with its servers scheduled to shut down on February 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM EDT. The game was to be removed from digital storefronts and could no longer be purchased. A notice dated February 17, 2025 confirmed that it had been sunset and was no longer available to play. As a result, troubleshooting a Switch cannot restore access to Realm Royale’s shut-down online service. The crash note is useful as a record of what developers addressed while the game was active, not as evidence of current support.
What can you try when a Switch game closes unexpectedly?
Nintendo’s general guidance for a Nintendo Switch game that closes unexpectedly recommends these steps. They are platform-wide troubleshooting suggestions, not a confirmed Realm Royale-specific fix, and they cannot bring back a game whose servers have shut down.

- Update the Nintendo Switch system software and the game software.
- Check the software for corrupted data.
- If needed, delete the software and redownload it to the console’s system memory with the microSD card removed.
