What is Bilewater?
Bilewater is a region in Hollow Knight: Silksong. A location guide characterizes it as a confusing area of hazardous water, maggots, traps, and looping paths. Its hazards make exploration riskier than simply following a map: another guide notes that Bilewater has few benches and that maggots can drain Hornet’s silk until she can bind.

How to find Bilewater’s map
If your goal is the area map, Shreya Shree’s September 11, 2025 guide reports an early approach through Sinner’s Road. It says the Faydown Cloak’s double jump helps Hornet reach Shakra and sections that would otherwise be inaccessible. The route advice is guide-reported and may be affected by game updates.
- Reach Bilewater from Sinner’s Road, following the guide’s reported early route.
- Obtain the Faydown Cloak before attempting the suggested route to Shakra; its double jump is described as useful for reaching her and otherwise inaccessible sections.
- Navigate the cages and platforms while watching for hazardous pools, enemies, traps, and collapsing ropes.
- Open a Bellway and use a bench along the way when available, as the guide recommends.
- Find Shakra to buy the Bilewater map. The guide reports an in-game price of 90 Rosaries.
How to get the Twisted Bud
The Twisted Bud is a separate collectible, and its reported route starts from the Whispering Vaults—not Sinner’s Road. A September 13, 2025 guide describes entering through a hidden passage on the east side of the map.
