Yes—Rainbow Six Siege now has a free-to-play entry tier. Ubisoft launched Siege X and Free Access on June 10, 2025. New players can play Quick Match, Unranked, and Dual Front for free; Ranked, Siege Cup, extra operators, and cosmetics sit behind paid access. Premium access does not bypass the level 50 requirement for Ranked and Siege Cup.
What is free in Rainbow Six Siege?
Ubisoft’s current Free Access page lists three modes for players who download the free version: Quick Match, Unranked, and Dual Front. Free Access is an entry tier, not a claim that every mode, operator, or cosmetic is available at no cost.
Dual Front is a 6v6 mode in which attackers and defenders can fight on the same team, with respawning. Ubisoft’s May 2025 platform announcement says Dual Front is unavailable on PS4 and Xbox One, so owners of those consoles can use Free Access but cannot play that mode.
What requires paid access?
Ubisoft lists Ranked playlists, Siege Cup, additional operators, and cosmetics among the paid features. Players must also reach level 50 to access Ranked and Siege Cup, even with premium access. The paid tier therefore removes the access restriction on those modes, but not the level requirement.

Ubisoft’s March 2025 launch announcement said new Free Access players would start with 10 operators and could expand their roster to 26 through progression. Those are announcement-era figures, not a guarantee of the current operator roster; check the current in-game or official offer before relying on an exact count.
What happened to existing players?
Siege X launched as a free update for existing owners, while Free Access opened a free route into the game for new players. Ubisoft said existing owners would keep their unlocked modes, operators, inventory, and progression, and receive veteran rewards. The change was not a reset of established accounts.

Where can you play Free Access?
Ubisoft’s current Free Access page lists PC through the Ubisoft Store and Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Its May 2025 platform announcement named PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Amazon Luna, and PC. Platform availability can vary by storefront and region; confirm the current listing for your device.
The main platform caveat is Dual Front: Ubisoft specifically excludes PS4 and Xbox One from that mode. The May 2025 announcement describes the other Siege X changes as updates to the game, rather than modes restricted to the free tier.
