Obsidian announced limited-time physical editions of Pentiment for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in February 2024. The preorder window ran from February 22 through March 22, 2024, so it is no longer open. Limited Run Games currently marks its listed editions sold out; that does not confirm whether independent resellers have copies.
Which platforms received a physical edition?
Obsidian’s February 21, 2024 announcement named Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for the limited physical preorder. It did not announce a PS4 physical edition: PS4 appeared in the announcement’s digital-platform information, not its physical preorder list.

The game is a narrative adventure about artist Andreas Maler and the people of 16th-century Upper Bavaria. Xbox Wire’s launch announcement describes its setting and premise.
What is the current availability?
The original preorder period was February 22–March 22, 2024. Limited Run Games’ Pentiment catalog currently labels its listed Switch, PS5 and Xbox editions sold out. That status applies to the catalog, not necessarily to every retailer or secondhand seller; check the seller’s live listing and confirm the item’s condition before buying.

What should you know about each edition?
| Platform | What the sources establish |
|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch | Limited Run Games describes the edition as a region-free physical cartridge. See its Switch product page. |
| PlayStation 5 | Included in Obsidian’s physical preorder announcement. The cited sources do not establish a detailed comparison of packaging or contents with other editions. |
| Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S | Both were included in Obsidian’s announcement. Limited Run Games’ catalog groups its listing under the broader “Xbox” label. |
If considering a listing, match it to your console, check any region or compatibility requirements, and verify the seller, condition and current stock. The Switch page’s region-free statement applies to its cartridge; it should not be treated as a claim about every platform edition.
