The original ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X launched globally on October 16, 2025, with Canada among the markets where pre-orders opened. That date has passed. A separate product, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 anniversary edition, is scheduled to reach Canadian shelves on October 15, 2026.
Which ROG Xbox Ally launches in Canada?
There are two separate launch stories. The original ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X were part of the October 16, 2025 global launch announced by Xbox. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 is a distinct 2026 anniversary edition announced for Canadian shelves on October 15, 2026.

What are the announced Canadian prices and where can you order?
Xbox’s September 25, 2025 launch announcement gave estimated retail prices of US$599.99 for the original Ally and US$999.99 for the Ally X, while saying exact regional prices would be announced by region. Those are US figures, not Canadian prices, and the announcement does not establish a Canadian MSRP for either 2025 model.
For the X20, ASUS Canada’s August 25, 2026 announcement lists C$1,899 for the standalone handheld and C$3,499 for the bundle. ASUS said the standalone was available for pre-order through Best Buy, ASUS Store pre-orders were to open September 24, and both configurations were scheduled to reach shelves October 15. The announcement names no Amazon Canada listing, and it does not establish current stock or retailer sale prices.

How does the X20 differ from the 2025 Ally X?
The clearest official hardware difference is the display: ASUS Canada lists the 2025 Ally X with a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz screen, while ASUS’s X20 announcement describes a 7.4-inch 1080p OLED display with 120Hz and HDR. Both list the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor family. The X20 also has a translucent black anniversary-edition chassis.
These specifications do not establish real-world frame rates, battery life in a particular game or whether the X20 bundle is good value. The available official materials are announcements and product specifications, not comparative independent tests.

ASUS describes the Ally family as Windows 11 handhelds that can access a user’s PC game library, including Xbox and other PC game stores. They are not Xbox consoles: the Xbox features sit on top of a Windows PC platform. ASUS highlights an Xbox button, Game Bar and Command Center, as well as a Game Pass offer subject to terms and eligible-market conditions. Game availability and offers can vary by region and time, so check the current terms for your account and location.
