There is no confirmed Ubisoft notice in the reviewed official sources that a specific Rainbow Six Siege squad-disconnection and ban issue is under investigation. Ubisoft’s policy says a player who disconnects from a Ranked match can receive a temporary ban and a Renown or Rank penalty. Its service-status page showed no platform-wide issues in a snapshot dated October 6, 2026, at 7:46 PM UTC—but that snapshot cannot diagnose an individual squad’s connection or rule out a later incident.
Is Ubisoft investigating the squad-disconnection issue?
The official Ubisoft sources reviewed do not confirm an active investigation into the specific squad-disconnection report described here. That is a limit of the available confirmation, not proof that no investigation exists. Ubisoft’s August 7, 2026 Community Checkpoint discusses anti-cheat measures and cheating-ban procedures, but it does not establish that a disconnect-related penalty is part of that work.
Can you get a ban for disconnecting in Ranked?
Yes. Ubisoft’s temporary-ban support article, updated June 22, 2026, says: “When playing a Ranked mode match, players disconnecting will receive a temporary ban, as well as receiving a Renown or Rank penalty.” Ubisoft does not specify the ban duration in that article. It describes a temporary Ranked-match sanction, not a permanent cheating ban.
If you believe a temporary ban was applied wrongly, Ubisoft directs players to contact support. The policy does not promise that support will remove a particular abandonment penalty.

Are Rainbow Six Siege servers down?
Ubisoft’s status page showed “No Issues” for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in a snapshot updated October 6, 2026, at 7:46 PM UTC. Check the live service-status page close to the time a disconnect happens: a dated, platform-level status reading cannot establish what happened to one player or squad, and it may not reflect a later or regional incident.
Why did my squad disconnect?
A squad report alone does not identify the cause. Possible categories include Ubisoft service trouble, an ISP or home-network problem, or a lost connection to BattlEye. Ubisoft’s connectivity guidance notes that issues can involve an internet service provider or the way connection speed is shared. Without the error code, timing, platform, and connection details, there is not enough evidence to attribute a particular incident to one cause.

One player disconnected, or the whole squad?
Record whether the problem affected one player or everyone in the squad. That distinction is useful when describing the incident, but it does not by itself prove whether the cause was a game service, a shared network, or an individual connection.
What the error code can tell you
Ubisoft’s support topics associate error 0-0x00000204 with losing the connection to the game server and 0-0x00001001 with losing the connection to BattlEye. For either code, Ubisoft’s stated first step is to restart the game; if the problem persists, follow its connectivity troubleshooting guidance. These codes distinguish connection types but do not, on their own, establish why the connection was lost.

What to do after a disconnect or abandon penalty
- Check service status: open Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege status page near the time of the incident and note the platform and what it reports.
- Write down the incident details: capture your platform, local time and time zone, exact error code, whether one player or the whole squad disconnected, and whether the game offered a reconnect.
- Restart for the cited connection errors: if you saw 0-0x00000204 or 0-0x00001001, restart the game as Ubisoft advises. If the connection problem continues, work through the connectivity guide.
- Contact Ubisoft about a disputed temporary ban: use Ubisoft support if you believe the Ranked penalty was wrongful. No reviewed policy guarantees a reversal.
- Report a reproducible bug with evidence: Ubisoft’s general bug-reporting guidance recommends describing when it occurs, expected behavior, reproduction steps, any workaround, and screenshots or video. This is general bug-reporting advice, not a special appeal process for an abandonment penalty.
What Ubisoft has said about unfair penalties
In its October 25, 2024 Player Protection Update, Ubisoft said it had improved detection of crashes versus intentional disconnections and that the latest update had reduced unfair abandonment penalties by two thirds. That figure describes Ubisoft’s reported result at the time; it is historical context, not a current rate or confirmation that the present squad-disconnection report is being investigated.
