Rainbow Six Siege’s game servers reopened after Ubisoft completed a rollback in response to the December 2025 Marketplace incident. Ubisoft’s status page showed no issues for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in its October 5, 2026 update. That does not confirm whether Marketplace trading is available: Ubisoft’s latest Marketplace-specific update in the sources below, dated June 30, 2026, did not establish its status on October 8.
Are Rainbow Six Siege servers back up?
Yes, the game was reopened after the December 2025 shutdown. For a current platform-by-platform check, use Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege service-status page. Its displayed October 5, 2026 update listed PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One as “No Issues.” That is a dated status report, not a guarantee that every player can connect at every moment.
When Ubisoft announced the reopening, it said live testing was complete and warned that queues might occur as services ramped up. The recovery update was reproduced in contemporaneous reporting; the sequence is documented by Engadget’s December 29, 2025 report.
Is the R6 Marketplace back?
The game returning and the Marketplace reopening are separate service decisions. Ubisoft said the rollback was complete when it reopened the game, but that the Marketplace would remain closed while its investigation continued. The sources here do not establish the Marketplace’s exact availability on October 8, 2026, so do not infer trading access from the game-server status page.

Ubisoft’s latest Marketplace-specific statement in these sources is its June 30, 2026 Marketplace & Economy update. Ubisoft described account theft, botting, credit transfers, transaction-security problems, pricing instability, and imbalances in item circulation. It said: “Reintroducing it today would bring back both security risks and economic disruption, which is why we need to focus on rebuilding a safer, fairer, and more robust system.” The update pointed to stronger account protection, monitoring, and a redesigned trading system as work needed. Check for a newer Ubisoft Marketplace announcement before assuming trading is or is not available.
What did the December 2025 rollback mean for player inventories?
Ubisoft’s recovery guidance tied inventory outcomes to player login timing. Players who did not log in between December 27, 2025, 10:49 UTC and December 29 were told they should see no inventory changes. Ubisoft also said a small percentage of players who connected after December 27 at 10:49 UTC might temporarily lose access to some owned items. This was conditional guidance, not a statement that all players lost items or that every individual issue was permanently resolved.

Contemporaneous reports described players seeing unexpected R6 Credits and rare or developer-only items, as well as bans and unbans. Those were reported player-visible effects, not a comprehensive Ubisoft-confirmed inventory of what happened to every account. See PC Gamer’s December 29, 2025 report for coverage of those reports.

How to check whether you can play or trade
- For playing: open Ubisoft’s service-status page and check the entry for your platform. A listed “No Issues” status is the page’s reported service state, not a guarantee against a local connection problem.
- For trading: look for a dated, Marketplace-specific notice from Ubisoft. The game-server status page reports game services; it does not establish Marketplace access.
- For missing items: compare your login timing with Ubisoft’s December 27–29 rollback guidance. The notice described possible temporary access loss for only a small percentage of players who connected after the stated cutoff; it does not determine the status of an individual account.
What is not confirmed
- The sources do not establish the Marketplace’s exact availability on October 8, 2026.
- They do not verify an attacker’s identity or a specific technical vulnerability.
- Reported quantities of in-game currency should not be treated as Ubisoft-confirmed totals.
