Recovery is not guaranteed, and Roblox does not promise to restore lost items or currency.
Choose the recovery path that matches your problem
| What you need | What to try | What it requires |
|---|---|---|
| You know the username but forgot the password | Reset by email or phone | Access to an email address or phone number already attached to the account |
| You forgot the username | Use the username lookup on Roblox’s recovery page | An attached email or phone; a purchase receipt may also help |
| You suspect a takeover, or self-service recovery fails | Secure your device, then contact Roblox Support | Information Roblox can use to verify account ownership; recovery is not assured |
Reset your password with the account’s email
- On the Roblox Login page, select Forgot Password or Username?
- Enter the exact email address associated with your account and submit it.
- Check that inbox, including spam or junk folders, for Roblox’s reset message. Open its Reset Password link.
- If Roblox shows more than one account, select the account you are trying to recover, then set a new password that you do not use on other sites.
This route works only if the email is attached to the account and you can access it. If no reset message arrives, check that you entered the right address and look in filtered folders before trying another recovery route. Roblox’s password and username recovery instructions describe the official flow.
Reset with a phone number instead
If a phone number is attached to the account but you cannot use its email, open the same recovery page and choose the Phone tab. Select the country code, enter the number, and follow the prompts to receive and enter a verification code. Choose the correct account if prompted, then create a new password.
Phone recovery requires a number already linked to the account, and Roblox does not offer phone verification in every country. If the phone option is unavailable or the number is no longer accessible, contact Roblox Support.

On the recovery page, use the username lookup and enter the email address or phone number attached to the account. Roblox can return matching usernames when it finds an account linked to that contact information. You can also check Roblox purchase receipts; some include the username.
Roblox says its listed lookup routes cannot recover an account without an email, phone number, or purchase history. If none of those clues helps identify the account, explain the problem to Roblox Support.

If you think your account was hacked
Secure the device before signing in again
Roblox advises removing suspicious downloads from outside Roblox and unfamiliar browser extensions, then running a full virus scan. A compromised device or browser can expose a new password, so address that risk before you reset credentials.
Try a reset, then ask Support to verify ownership
Once the device is secured, try the email or phone reset. If the contact details have been changed or the reset does not work, submit a request through Roblox Support and describe the login problem. Roblox says the first email ever added to the account, or the billing email used for the first payment, can help verify ownership even if the account’s current contact email has changed. Provide those details if available; they do not guarantee a successful recovery.

Roblox says it may explore other ownership-verification options if no email or card/PayPal purchase was associated with account creation. That possibility is not a promise that an account can be restored. Use only Roblox’s official site or apps, not third-party account-recovery services.
If a verification code does not arrive or work
For an email 2-Step Verification code, confirm you are checking the address attached to the account and inspect spam, junk, and other filtered folders. Roblox Support says email 2-Step Verification codes expire after 15 minutes; this timing applies to those security codes, not password-reset emails. Request a fresh code or use another verification method already configured on the account. If the code still fails, contact Roblox Support.

What happens to lost items and currency?
Roblox Support states: “Roblox does not guarantee that an individual’s account will be restored to its previous state, or that Roblox will be able to recover lost virtual items or virtual currency.” Roblox describes possible recovery of lost inventory or approximate value only in very limited circumstances. Its guidance says to contact Support within 30 days of the compromise to seek assistance; that period is not a guarantee of reimbursement or restoration.

- Use a unique password and keep the account’s email and phone information current and verified where those options are available.
- Turn on 2-step verification. Roblox’s safety guidance lists authenticator app, email, and security-key options and recommends an authenticator app.
- Never share your password, browser cookies, 2-step verification codes, backup codes, personal details, or sensitive computer information. Roblox says its staff will not ask for those credentials. Ignore “free Robux,” surveys, and tricks that ask you to sign in or disclose account details.
- For an account holder under 13, a parent or guardian can verify a parental recovery email.
Roblox’s Enhanced Protection guidance describes passkeys and hardware security keys as phishing-resistant sign-in methods. Setting up Enhanced Protection requires a passkey, a verified email, and a secondary verification layer, such as a verified phone or backup codes. Keep recovery methods accessible: losing a passkey or hardware key can make account access harder. Support varies by platform; Roblox says some platforms, including Xbox, do not support passkeys and suggests Quick Login there. Check Roblox’s Enhanced Protection guidance for current requirements and platform details.
