To improve at REMATCH, conserve stamina for decisive runs and abilities, make yourself useful away from the ball, and choose plays that help your team keep or regain possession. In goal, match your dive to the shot: a regular dive can catch a reachable ball, while a long-range dive reaches farther but deflects it. These fundamentals matter more than any supposed guaranteed scoring trick—and the details can change with patches.
Start with the team, not the ball
REMATCH is a third-person football game in which each player controls one player on a team. Sloclap’s official game description emphasizes observing the action, positioning, execution, and relying on teammates. That makes off-ball movement part of the attack: look for space, offer a passing option, and help your team advance rather than treating every possession as a solo dribbling challenge.
- When a teammate has the ball: move into a useful passing lane instead of crowding the carrier.
- When your team loses possession: help close a route or recover into a useful position rather than chasing blindly.
- When you have the ball: consider whether a pass or change of position creates a better team attack than another individual move.
Manage stamina around the next decisive play
Sloclap’s Season 5 gameplay explanation says ordinary movement does not consume stamina, while sprinting does; sprint speed also scales with remaining stamina. Abilities use stamina too, and their recovery rates vary. At zero stamina, abilities remain usable but are less effective: exhausted dribbles cannot be chained normally, while exhausted push-ball actions send the ball farther away and take longer to recover from.
Use that system to decide when urgency is worth the cost. Move without sprinting when you have time, and save stamina-consuming moves for a run, challenge, or escape that can materially improve the play. Repeatedly sprinting after every ball can leave you slower when a more important moment arrives. Sloclap describes the intended reward as going to teams that rotate, pass, and position well, so share the work instead of asking one player to do everything.

Choose a goalkeeper dive by reach and outcome
The dive choice is a trade-off between how much of the goal you can reach and what happens if you make contact. Sloclap’s Season 5 explanation describes the options this way:
| Dive | Reach and trajectory | Ball outcome | When it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular dive | Covers roughly half the goal; does not reach the very top corners. | Can reliably catch a ball within reach when the goalkeeper is properly positioned. | Use when your position lets you reach the shot and securing the ball is preferable. |
| Long-range dive | Reaches farther than the regular dive. | Always deflects the ball, keeping it in play. | Use as a reaction or reach-extending option when the regular dive cannot get there. |
Read the shot and your starting position before choosing. A longer reach is not automatically a better save if the ball remains loose after contact; a regular dive is not enough for a shot outside its reach. These are developer-described mechanics, not a promise that any dive will stop a goal.

Coordinate tackles instead of stacking them
Tackle contests are not simply a matter of how many teammates press the same opponent. Sloclap says their outcomes depend on how close together the tackles occur and on the type of tackle used. In the Season 5 explanation, different timing bands can resolve normally, knock the ball off at an angle, or send it in the combined direction of the tackles; goalkeeper tackles have special outcomes in the documented contests.
Before challenging, notice whether a teammate is already committing. Coordinate timing and account for the tackle type rather than automatically piling on. An uncoordinated second tackle can produce a different ball outcome from the one your team wants.
