Rematch players asking Sloclap to “fix the servers” may be reacting to different problems: high latency, rollback, lag, or matchmaking delays. Sloclap’s guidance lets players check their preferred server region and troubleshoot local connections, while its latest listed October 2026 hotfix does not say that server complaints have been fixed.
What players mean by “fix the servers”
In Rematch, “server problems” can describe several experiences that are related but not interchangeable. High latency and rollback show up during a match; matchmaking affects how long it takes to find one. Wi-Fi interference, competing downloads, or a VPN can also affect an individual connection, while regional routing and netcode are game-side factors.
Sloclap’s July 18, 2025 developer update described the worldwide distribution and latency challenge this way: “Servers and regions: just like football, Rematch is a game that is played all over the world, which creates significant challenges in server distribution and latency optimizations.” The update also said matchmaking involves balancing match quality against queue times. These distinctions matter: a long queue does not by itself establish a server outage, and a local connection check cannot resolve a game-side routing issue. Sloclap’s July 18, 2025 developer update
How to check or change your server region
Rematch selects a server region before each match using quality-of-service factors that include latency and bandwidth. Players can set a preferred location in the game’s options:

- Select Preferred Server Location and choose a preferred region.
Choosing a preferred region is a way to influence location selection, not a promise that every match will use a particular server or that latency will disappear. Sloclap says it operates servers across multiple regions and monitors network performance. Rematch’s official FAQ
What to try when Rematch is lagging or rolling back
Sloclap recommends these checks for high latency, rollback, or lag. They help identify or reduce local network problems; they cannot guarantee a remedy for server-side issues.

- Cat 8 Speed, Cat 5/5e Value Enjoy Cat 8 Ethernet cable performance at a Cat 5/5e-level value. With up to 40Gbps speed and 2000MHz bandwidth, this high speed internet cable delivers more bandwidth than standard Cat 5 and Cat 5e cables, helping support smooth gaming, streaming, video calls, large file transfers and everyday wired network use.
- 40Gbps Speed, Wide Compatibility This Cat 8 Ethernet cable supports up to 40Gbps data transfer and 2000MHz bandwidth for fast, reliable internet performance. Standard RJ45 connectors are backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6, Cat6a and Cat5e devices, including routers, modems, switches, gaming PCs, PS5, PS4, Xbox, smart TVs, laptops and printers.
- Stable U/FTP Shielding Each of the 4 twisted pairs is individually wrapped with aluminum foil to help reduce crosstalk, noise, and signal interference. Combined with RJ45 connectors on both ends, the U/FTP design helps maintain cleaner signal transmission for a stable and reliable wired network connection.
- Nylon Braided Durability The nylon braided jacket adds everyday durability while keeping the cable flexible and easy to route. Reinforced construction helps the cord handle bending, pulling and frequent plugging, making it a reliable choice for desks, gaming rooms, home offices and long-term network setups.
- 50ft Reach for More Setups The 50 ft length makes it easier to connect devices across rooms, along walls, under desks or around corners. Great for router-to-PC connections, modem-to-TV setups, gaming consoles, workstations, printers and other home network equipment that needs a longer Ethernet cable.
- Turn on Show Network Performance Info to see network indicators while playing.
- Use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi, if possible. This can avoid some wireless interference, but does not repair game infrastructure.
- Pause or close streaming, downloads, and other services using bandwidth on your connection.
- Disable a VPN while testing, since it can affect the route between you and the game.
- Check whether your router or firewall is blocking the game.
If the problem persists, Sloclap’s FAQ directs players to [email protected]. In a support message, describe whether the issue is a long queue, in-match latency, or rollback, and include the region preference and connection checks you tried; that makes the symptom clearer without assuming its cause. What Sloclap has said and changed
The latest listed update does not confirm a server fix
As of October 8, 2026, Sloclap’s news page lists Season 5 Hotfix 1.205.004, released October 2, 2026. Its displayed notes describe gameplay fixes, including tackle-assist tuning and ball-interaction fixes. The listing also features a Season 5 feedback follow-up saying Sloclap has received feedback, identified issues, and is working to address them. Neither item, as displayed, confirms a server repair or says that the complaints about lag have been resolved. Sloclap’s news page

The detailed netcode discussion is historical
In its July 18, 2025 update, Sloclap said netcode improvements would be ongoing and discussed packet-routing optimization, initially looking at South America, then the Middle East and other regions if results were confirmed. That was a plan described at the time; it does not establish that the optimization is currently deployed. The update also reported more than 60 million hours played, a historical engagement figure that says nothing about current server performance or how many players are complaining. Matchmaking changes are not proof of a latency fix
A June 19, 2025 hotfix said matchmaking was adjusted to reduce waiting times in Casual and Ranked, particularly for high-ranked players, while Sloclap continued to monitor the balance between match quality and queue time. That addresses queueing, not necessarily in-match lag or rollback, and does not establish the cause of current connection complaints. June 19, 2025 matchmaking hotfix

Is Rematch down?
The cited official material does not establish a current outage. The news listing is useful for checking announced updates, but the October 2026 hotfix notes are not a server-status confirmation. If you cannot connect, distinguish a persistent failure to enter a match from lag after a match begins, check Sloclap’s official channels, and contact support if the issue continues.
