Announced on July 22, 2024, the Team USA Ultimate Obby brought a U.S.-available Olympic and Paralympic-themed experience to Roblox ahead of the Paris 2024 Games. The launch was an invitation from the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and NBCUniversal, with the experience developed by Monks—not evidence, by itself, of a separate direct Roblox–Team USA agreement.
What the Roblox and Team USA partnership actually was
The USOPC and NBCUniversal announced the experience as a way for fans to engage with Team USA and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games through Roblox. Roblox hosted the experience; Monks developed it. The USOPC described the launch as an invitation to fans, so the headline’s use of “partnership” should not be read as proof of a direct bilateral contract between Roblox and Team USA. USOPC announcement, July 22, 2024.
This was distinct from Olympic World, a separate Roblox experience launched globally by the International Olympic Committee. The Team USA Ultimate Obby was available to U.S. players at launch.
What players could do in Team USA Ultimate Obby
Climb Game Mountain
The central activity was Game Mountain, a vertical obstacle course divided into sports-themed areas. Players could navigate the course rather than simply watch Olympic coverage.

Breaking athletes Sunny Choi and Victor Montalvo inspired five emotes. One was sold in the Roblox Marketplace for use across Roblox, with a portion of proceeds going to Choi and Montalvo; four others were free and usable only within the Team USA experience. The virtual Team USA House also had a Ralph Lauren area showcasing the official Team USA Collection, alongside virtual shopping for avatar items. These were digital Roblox features; the announcement does not establish that those items remain available today or that the virtual shopping represented a physical purchase.
Did the experience support athletes?
The announcement specifies that a portion of proceeds from the Marketplace emote inspired by Sunny Choi and Victor Montalvo would go to the two athletes. It does not give a percentage or establish proceeds for other avatar items. This is the specific athlete-support mechanism described in the launch announcement, rather than evidence that all in-experience purchases benefited athletes.

Readers should check Roblox directly for current experience and item listings rather than assume the 2024 content is still accessible.
