RoboCop: Rogue City critic scores by platform
Metacritic’s PC page lists a 76/100 score from 33 critic reviews: 17 positive, 14 mixed and none negative. Its PlayStation 5 page lists 72/100 from 56 critic reviews: 28 positive, 25 mixed and three negative. Metacritic labels the PC result “Generally Favorable” and the PS5 result “Mixed or Average.” Metacritic’s PC critic reviews and its PS5 critic reviews show these snapshots; scores and review counts can change.

The figures are Metacritic’s critic-review aggregates, not user ratings, a representative survey of all critics, or an individual review. A four-point gap alone also does not establish that one version performs better: the review pages do not provide a controlled technical comparison between platforms.
What critics praise
A recognizable RoboCop adaptation
Positive reviews tend to value how closely the game evokes the films’ setting, tone and central power fantasy. Its blunt, deliberate first-person shooting, dark humor and familiar world are part of the appeal, particularly for players who want a game that feels recognizably like RoboCop rather than a loosely themed shooter.

CGMagazine praised the hours of shooting and light role-playing elements; Noisy Pixel highlighted the mix of action and investigation, while also pointing to backtracking. Appeal to fans of the source material
Some coverage sees the game’s focused adaptation of an established property as a strength: it delivers the setting and fantasy directly instead of trying to reinvent them. Shacknews’s October 31, 2023 review excerpt, as reproduced by Metacritic, describes the game as evidence that a smaller-scale licensed game can work when its creative focus suits the property. Metacritic’s PS5 page includes that excerpt alongside other critics’ views.

What critics criticize
Repetition and backtracking
The slower investigative stretches give the shooting some contrast, but they can also make missions feel repetitive. Backtracking is a specific criticism in the PC excerpts; the broader concern in more skeptical coverage is that the overall mission loop can wear thin.
Technical roughness
Some PS5 reviews report glitches or performance problems. Those criticisms are not a measured, side-by-side comparison of PC and console performance, so the aggregate scores should not be read as proof that the PC version runs better. Check reviews for the specific platform and version you plan to play if technical performance is a priority.

A story that may feel familiar
Critics who find the story too close to the films may see that familiarity as a lack of surprise; fans may instead value the continuity of tone and world. Whether that is a drawback depends on whether you want a fresh direction or a direct return to RoboCop’s established universe.
How to use the scores when deciding whether to play
Start with the score for your platform, then read individual reviews for the qualities most likely to affect your experience. The reviewed coverage makes atmosphere, combat, investigation and mission pacing, technical performance, and repetition useful points of comparison. It does not establish one definitive verdict for every player.

- Consider it if: RoboCop’s world and dark humor are a major draw, and you want deliberate first-person action with some investigation.
- Read more closely if: you are sensitive to repeated mission structures, backtracking, glitches or performance issues, or want a story that substantially departs from the films.
- Compare like with like: use reviews for your own platform and verify that they discuss the same edition or game version when making a purchase decision.
Edition and platform context
Nacon identifies Teyon as the developer and Nacon as the publisher. Its product page lists PlayStation 5, Xbox, Steam key and Mac options, with physical and digital formats available to select. The PS5 Standard Edition listing includes the base game, an OCP Shotgun secondary weapon, a Damaged skin, an Auto-9 prototype skin and a digital artbook. The page warns that the DLC shown in the EU packshot is not compatible; check the listing for your region and the exact edition before buying. See Nacon’s product and edition information.
Release-date listings differ: Nacon’s product page gives September 29, 2023, while Steam lists November 2, 2023. Without confirming the reason for the discrepancy, neither date should be treated as a universally applicable release date. Steam lists Windows system requirements and mature-content descriptors including intense violence, blood, gore, strong language, sexual themes and fictional drug use. Check the Steam listing for its current PC details and content information.
