The reported notice accused him of conduct including simulated child-endangerment conversations, sharing or soliciting personally identifiable information, and moving conversations off Roblox. Those are allegations attributed to the notice, not findings established by the sources available here. Roblox said its action reflected safety concerns about vigilantes impersonating minors and taking conversations off-platform; Schlep, meanwhile, said his team had helped get six predators arrested. An arrest is not a conviction, and the cited accounts do not establish a court ruling resolving the dispute.
What happened to Schlep?
In August 2025, Roblox banned Schlep, a YouTuber described in coverage as a “predator hunter,” and issued him a cease-and-desist notice, Insider Gaming reported. The notice was not a lawsuit filed in court. The sources cited here do not establish the complete text of the letter as an independently hosted official document, so its accusations should be described as reported allegations rather than proven conduct.
Insider Gaming reported that the notice accused Schlep of simulated conversations involving child endangerment, sharing or soliciting personally identifiable information (PII), and directing users to continue conversations away from Roblox. The notice’s existence and those allegations are reported by the outlet; they are not independently established findings.
Why did Roblox say it removed vigilantes?
In an August 13, 2025 statement, Roblox Chief Safety Officer Matt Kaufman said the company had removed vigilantes because, in Roblox’s account, some impersonated minors, approached other users, and tried to move conversations to other platforms. Roblox said those actions bypassed its safety systems and violated its policies. That is the company’s explanation for its policy, not an independent finding that every allegation applied to Schlep.

Roblox argued that moving interactions elsewhere can deprive the platform of the context and tools it uses to review activity. Kaufman wrote: “Accurate, timely reporting from our community is important.” He also said the platform’s reporting tools capture metadata and details that an email or screenshot may not, and can support more effective reviews and reporting to law enforcement when warranted.
What did Schlep say, and what does the arrest claim establish?
Schlep publicly claimed that he and his team had helped get six predators arrested in under a year. That is his account of their work, not proof of convictions or a court’s assessment of the conduct at issue. A May 14, 2026 Oklahoma petition, quoting Rolling Stone reporting, says that at the time of that reporting none of the alleged predators had been convicted. The petition is a litigant’s filing and does not itself establish the truth of the allegations it discusses.

The two accounts therefore describe different questions: Roblox explained why it considered certain vigilante tactics unsafe or against policy, while Schlep emphasized his stated intent and claimed law-enforcement outcomes. The sources cited here do not establish a judicial decision resolving their dispute.
What did Roblox recommend users do instead?
Roblox recommended using its in-platform reporting tools and appropriate reporting channels. The company said accurate, timely reports can provide metadata and other details that screenshots or email may omit, helping it review a case and report it to law enforcement when warranted. Roblox also said it cannot tell an individual whether a report resulted in consequences because of user privacy. These are descriptions of Roblox’s own processes and policies, not independent measurements of how effectively a particular report was handled.

Company-reported platform scale
To explain the volume its safety systems handle, Roblox’s August 13, 2025 statement reported an average of 111.8 million daily active users, 6.1 billion chat messages per day, and 1.1 million hours of voice chat per day across 28 languages. The company also said it reviewed more than 1 billion reports each year. It reported 24,522 reports submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in 2024, or 0.12% of the 20.3 million reports submitted industry-wide that year. These are company-reported figures and provide scale; they do not demonstrate how a particular report was handled or establish overall safety outcomes.
