Its strongest case is breadth: the package includes both Soaked! and Wild! alongside the original game. The clearest platform-specific review evidence is for Nintendo Switch, where Nintendo Life praised the adapted controls and substantial building gameplay but noted occasional stutter in busy parks, dated visuals and mechanics that can take time to learn.
What is included in the Complete Edition?
The Complete Edition bundles the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 with the Soaked! and Wild! expansions. Soaked! adds water-park content, while Wild! brings animal habitats and related park features. Atari and the platform listings describe a game centered on building and managing parks, with career and sandbox play, customizable attractions and guests, and the ability to ride coasters through CoasterCam.

Creative scope and park-building depth
The appeal is the freedom to shape a park as well as keep it running: lay out attractions, build custom coasters, decorate themed areas and adjust the experience for guests. Career play gives that construction a series of goals; sandbox mode is the more open-ended choice for players who want to experiment without the same scenario structure. The included expansions broaden the kinds of parks you can create, particularly for water attractions and animal exhibits.

Switch controls and portability
In its European Nintendo Switch review published September 24, 2020, PJ O’Reilly of Nintendo Life rated the game 8/10. O’Reilly praised its adapted controls, substantial building gameplay, portability and inclusion of the expansions, noting that radial menus make the controller-based interface workable. What are the main drawbacks?
Busy parks can stutter on Switch
Nintendo Life reported occasional stuttering when parks became large and busy. The review does not establish how often this happens for every player or park, and it should not be treated as a performance verdict for the PC, Mac, PlayStation or Xbox editions.

Dated presentation and a learning curve
The same review described the visuals as dated and found some construction and water-ride mechanics initially finicky or poorly explained. Metacritic’s excerpts of Switch critics likewise show divided reactions: some praise the port and amount of content, while others criticize dated visuals, cumbersome or sluggish controls, or performance reductions. Atari lists digital availability on Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS, GOG, PlayStation and Xbox. Atari’s physical product page identifies boxed releases for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Nintendo lists the Switch release date as September 24, 2020, and supports TV, tabletop and handheld play. Its listing names Atari as publisher and Frontier Developments as developer.

- Especially appealing on Switch: players who value handheld play and are comfortable learning a controller interface built around radial menus.
- Think twice: players who expect modern visuals, immediately intuitive construction tools, or consistently smooth performance in a crowded Switch park.
There is not enough comparable platform-specific review evidence here to say that one edition is universally smoother or better. Choose based on whether you prefer portability and controller input or playing on a computer, and verify compatibility and current availability for the platform you plan to use.
