What kind of game is SANABI?
Developed by WONDER POTION and published by NEOWIZ, SANABI is a single-player action-platformer. The full release arrived November 8, 2023, after entering Steam Early Access on June 20, 2022. The official Steam description sets up a retired veteran’s last mission in a mega-city governed by a corrupt conglomerate: find the entity called SANABI and uncover corporate secrets.

The defining tool is the protagonist’s chain-hook prosthetic arm. Traversal involves swinging across cliffs and skyscrapers, crossing vertical gaps, and moving through spaces filled with bullets and traps; the hook also figures into combat. NEOWIZ’s November 9, 2023 launch announcement describes a five-chapter campaign, more than six bosses and multiple endings. The setup includes family loss and revenge, but those premises are enough to understand the stakes without spoiling later revelations.
Is SANABI worth playing?
It is a strong match for players who enjoy precision platforming and want a story threaded through the action. The hook makes movement—not just jumping between platforms—the central skill to learn, while hazards and enemies demand attention during traversal. That combination gives the game a clear identity: the story-forward structure and combat sit alongside, rather than replace, the movement challenge.

- SANABI is an exhilarating stylish dystopian action-platformer. Play as a legendary retired veteran and use your signature prosthetic arm to jump over cliffs and skyscrapers, zip through bullets and traps and defeat powerful enemies.
The main caveat is the same one that defines its appeal: precision-platforming difficulty may not suit someone looking for a relaxed, forgiving action game. Steam’s user-defined tags include “Story Rich,” “Difficult,” “Atmospheric” and “Precision Platformer.” Those tags signal how Steam users categorize it, not a critic verdict or a guarantee that every player will find the challenge fair. Whether the controls feel satisfying, the story lands emotionally and the difficulty feels well judged are subjective matters; official descriptions do not settle them.
What do players think of SANABI?
At access on October 8, 2026, Steam showed 95% positive from 4,794 English-language user reviews. This is a live storefront snapshot of user reviews, not a critic aggregate or a fixed lifetime score; the total and percentage can change. NEOWIZ also reported that the game won “Best Action Adventure Game” at the 2024 Indie Game Development Awards in China, an event the publisher says was hosted by ChinaJoy and Game Connection. That is publisher-reported award information, not an independent review score.

For physical media, NEOWIZ said the console package was distributed with Shinsegae I&C in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and other parts of Asia at launch. That announcement establishes a distribution route in those markets at that time; it does not confirm current stock, a physical North American edition or a current Amazon listing. If you search for “SANABI Nintendo Switch game,” verify the seller, market and format rather than assuming a listing is a cartridge. NEOWIZ launch announcement

SANABI: A Haunted Day is a free prequel expansion centered on Major Song. NEOWIZ announced its PC release for November 27, 2025, with eight new stages and two boss fights, and said console versions would follow. The expansion is additional story and gameplay content, not part of the original five-chapter campaign count announced at launch. Its inclusion makes the current package worth checking on the storefront for your platform, especially if you are buying the game in a region other than Canada.
