The lineup mixes adventurer archetypes with recognizable D&D characters and creatures. The official page identifies the full roster; it does not describe a different set of figures for the SDCC reveal.
How does the surprise-box format work?
Each sealed mystery box contains one surprise minifigure, at least one accessory, and a collector information leaflet, according to LEGO’s 71047 product page. A single box therefore does not let a buyer choose a specific character based on its listed contents. The product description establishes the one-figure-per-box format, but does not promise which character is inside a particular sealed box.

When did the series launch, and what is its status now?
D&D Beyond announced on August 9, 2024 that the series would launch on September 1, 2024. That date explains the original release timing, not present-day stock. LEGO’s official US page currently labels 71047 retired; that status does not establish whether independent sellers have inventory, or what they charge.

No. LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale (21348) is a separate build set, not the 71047 collectible minifigure wave. LEGO announced it on March 19, 2024 as a 3,745-piece set that includes six minifigures and noted that a D&D minifigure series was planned for fall. The two products suit different interests: 71047 is a surprise-box character collectible, while Red Dragon’s Tale is a larger build-and-play set.
