SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is already out: SNK’s July 21, 2024 announcement said the Steam version had launched July 20, with Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and GOG versions due July 22. The re-release brings back the 2003 arcade fighter with rollback netcode and tournament modes.
When did SVC Chaos come out?
“Out today” referred to the game’s July 2024 release window, not a new launch now. SNK announced the return on July 21, 2024: Steam was available from July 20, and the Switch, PS4 and GOG versions followed on July 22. Steam’s listing also gives July 20, 2024 as its release date, while GOG published a release notice for its version.

SNK’s headline called it “The 2003 arcade hit SVC CHAOS is back and better than ever!” The phrase “better than ever” is the publisher’s promotional description; the listed additions include rollback netcode and tournament modes.

What does the re-release add?
SNK describes SVC Chaos as a 2003 arcade fighting game with 36 characters from SNK and Capcom franchises, including The King of Fighters and Street Fighter. For the 2024 return, SNK identifies rollback netcode and tournament modes as additions while retaining the classic visuals and controls.
Nintendo’s Switch listing also documents a hitbox viewer and a gallery with 89 artworks, including key art and character portraits. Those are Switch-listing details; the available sources do not establish that the gallery count or hitbox viewer is exclusive to Switch.

How many players does it support?
Nintendo’s listing says the Switch version supports one to two players on a single system and online play for two to nine participants. The participant count does not, by itself, specify a particular bracket, lobby format or number of simultaneous matches. The listing also notes online play and save-data cloud features with Nintendo Switch Online.
