To cleanse the Sanctum of Absolution in Crimson Desert, defeat the Antumbra enemies and Antumbra’s Sword, recover a floating Fusion Reactor Core and a battery hidden under jars, then install both pieces in the central mechanism. The Blinding Flash dial puzzle is optional and comes after the machine is restored; completing it releases the Core of Absolution.
Where to find the Sanctum of Absolution
The sanctum is in southern Hernand, in the Mountain of Frozen Souls. IGN’s route is to travel from the Kharonso Abyss Nexus, follow the road south, and activate the Abyss Nexus beside the sanctum. Activating it provides a nearby return point if you need to leave and come back.

What you need before entering
Access is tied to Elowen’s Witch of Wisdom quest. IGN’s walkthrough says you also need Axiom Force and the Kuku Pot. The pot is used to carry the floating core; PC Gamer says it is obtained during the Chapter 4 Kiln Repair quest.
Clear the sanctum first
Defeat the Antumbra enemies around the site, including Antumbra’s Sword, before trying to restore the mechanism. PC Gamer advises preparing food, revival items, refined gear, Abyss Gear, and enough health and stamina for the fight; that is the guide’s preparation advice, not a tested requirement.

Find and install the missing pieces
Recover the floating Fusion Reactor Core
- Start at the central, pot-like mechanism. Turn around and climb the stairs.
- Take the door on the left into the dark room. Use Axiom Force to grab the floating Fusion Reactor Core, then seal it in the Kuku Pot.
- Return outside and release the core. Place it on the rear-left pillar, climb onto the pillar, and use Force Palm while jumping to fit it into place.
Find the battery under the jars
- Go to the other side of the building, near the boss area, and climb to the indoor corridor with the broken floor and spike traps.
- Jump across the hazards to the end of the corridor and break the jars. Collect the battery concealed underneath.
- Carry it to the central mechanism and place it in the slot on the left side. Use Force Palm to install it.
Guide descriptions differ on compass directions: PowerPyx places the pillar piece in a room north of the mechanism and the battery beneath jars in a corridor; IGN describes a floating top piece and a power cell on the east side of the kiln. Follow the stairs, dark room, trapped corridor, and central mechanism as landmarks, and check that each piece aligns before installing it.
Optional: solve the Blinding Flash dial puzzle
Once the mechanism is powered, use Blinding Flash on the panel. A ring rotates with gems and blank spaces. Tap the flash when the central line crosses a gem; do not trigger it at a blank space. IGN says the light takes about half a second to reach a gem, so start the flash just before the line arrives rather than waiting until it is directly over the gem.

Completing the sequence releases the Core of Absolution. Grab it with Axiom Force and seal it in the Kuku Pot. IGN says cores can be used in certain Kuku blueprints.

IGN lists the Enhanced Kuku Pot blueprint and Kuku Spear as rewards for cleansing the sanctum. It separately reports that Antumbra’s Sword drops the Vessel of Dark Pursuit, that a hidden-chamber chest contains Sunset Reed Cloth Boots, and that the optional dial puzzle yields the Core of Absolution. Another guide gives a different reward summary, and available guide accounts do not establish whether the discrepancy is due to game version, reward conditions, or an error. Treat these as IGN’s reported rewards rather than a guarantee that every player receives them.
