For most PvE content, build Salt Cellar Cookie with five Hard Walnut Toppings—or compatible Blooming Walnut pieces—prioritizing DEF. Pair them with a Defense-type Hard Beascuit that has useful DEF and a Hard Walnut Topping Tart. This setup supports the parts of her kit that scale with DEF, including shields for her team and summoned knights. It is a general PvE recommendation, not a guarantee for every stage or mode.

This is the general approach recommended by the build guides, rather than a controlled comparison of equipment setups. One guide notes that DEF from Toppings and other sources does not count toward the Beascuit-specific DEF-to-DMG-Resist conversion. Check the live skill description and stat screen, since game rules and balance may change.
Why DEF suits her kit
Salt Cellar Cookie is a Front-positioned Epic Defense Cookie. Her Knight of Solidarity skill summons four Kala Namak Knights, shields the team, and gives Proven Worth. The knights damage and push nearby targets; after taking three hits, they can trigger Strike of Solidarity to stun targets. If Silent Salt Cookie is on the team, Remembrance of Solidarity enhances the skill with additional effects.
The Cookie Run Wiki lists these skill coefficients: the team shield is 10% of Salt Cellar Cookie’s HP plus 20% of her DEF for five seconds, and each knight receives a shield equal to 50% of her DEF. The knights’ DEF-based ATK SPD bonus is 2% per 5,000 DEF, capped at 35%. These are in-game coefficients, not independent measures of performance. The same reference lists a Beascuit-specific conversion of 1% DMG Resist per 1% DEF increased by a Beascuit, capped at 40%.

When to use Solid Almond and Swift Chocolate
If getting Salt Cellar Cookie’s first cast off earlier matters more than maximizing DEF, consider a mixed set of Solid Almond and Swift Chocolate. The build guides suggest three pieces of one and two of the other; choose which set gets three pieces based on the balance you need. Useful Cooldown on a compatible Beascuit can also support this timing-focused approach. The tradeoff is lower DEF than the Walnut-centered setup, which can reduce the DEF-supported benefits of her kit.
Adjustments by mode
General PvE
Start with the Walnut-centered setup and tune secondary stats to the stage. DEF is the priority; HP and DMG Resist are useful survivability options, while ATK SPD or Cooldown may suit particular needs.

Steel-focused PvE
A steel-focused Beascuit may be worth considering for a specific stage, but the guides still describe DEF-focused Walnuts as the general build. Treat the alternative as situational rather than a universal upgrade.
Arena
Do not assume the PvE build makes Salt Cellar Cookie a dependable Arena tank in every team. The build guides describe her as more dependable in PvE; fast Arena battles and crowd control can interfere with her cast.
