For the Enterprise NX-01 in Star Trek Fleet Command, start with Jonathan Archer as captain and Trip Tucker as an officer, then choose the third officer for the result you want: isolytic damage, critical-hit damage or rate, loot, or hull breach. Scopely’s published combinations are strategic options, not a ranked list of one universally best crew.
NX-01 crew recommendations by objective
Scopely’s Enterprise NX-01 article, published February 6, 2024, places Jonathan Archer in the captain’s chair and pairs him with Trip Tucker. Choose the third officer according to your aim:

These are the purposes Scopely assigns to the combinations; it does not publish a head-to-head ranking or claim that one lineup wins every matchup. Select among the options based on the target, your objective, and which officers you have available.
Why the NX-01’s hull focus matters
The NX-01 emphasizes hull health (HHP) rather than shield health (SHP). Scopely describes it as having a large cargo bay for “OPC hunting” and says officers that divert incoming damage to shields are less effective on this ship. By contrast, research and other effects that amplify HHP fit its design better. Keep that distinction in mind when considering a crew or other effects that shift damage toward shields.

Where PIC Hugh fits
PIC Hugh has two separate uses described by Scopely: a below-deck ability that repairs some hull damage taken each combat round, and an officer ability that increases raw Ore, Crystal, and Gas collected while mining without draining the node faster. The published values vary by ability tier:

These are ability values, not evidence that a Hugh lineup outperforms the recommended combat crews. Scopely says PIC Hugh is sourced through the NX-01 refinery and that higher NX-01 tiers increase shard income. For the specific critical-hit-rate option in its crew recommendations, Scopely names Khan as a quick alternative to Hugh.

Archer’s Xindi resource maneuver
Scopely also lists Archer’s captain maneuver as increasing resources against Xindi hostiles. Its published values are 300% base, 50% synergy, and 100% synergy. These are the maneuver’s stated figures, not a comparative measure of overall crew performance.
Availability and progression context
Scopely lists the NX-01 as available at Operations 40 and above. The ship is also tied to Ex-Borg efficiency and refinery rewards, including PIC Hugh shards and Ex-Borg credits. Its active ability can temporarily reveal Deep Space systems the player has visited before; Scopely’s Update 63 Patch Notes, also published February 6, 2024, provide additional progression context.

How to choose among the lineups
- Set the goal. Choose whether you want isolytic boosts, Archer-focused critical-hit damage, loot, critical-hit rate, or hull-breach damage.
- Use the corresponding third officer. Refer to the lineup table and pick among the options Scopely associates with that goal.
- Check your available officers and target. The recommendations do not establish a universal winner across enemies, account progression, and officer tiers.
- Account for the ship’s hull emphasis. Shield-diversion effects are a poorer fit than HHP-amplifying effects, according to Scopely’s ship description.
Scopely’s recommendations are from February 2024. They do not establish current head-to-head performance for every account level, officer tier, or Xindi target, so treat the listed benefits as intended use cases rather than a present-day performance guarantee. Player discussions such as “What’s a good crew for Enterprise NX-1?” offer anecdotal, progression-dependent suggestions rather than authoritative comparative results.
