To beat the Sakuko-like Entity in Silent Hill f, prepare before the encounter, evade its chained-mace and grab attacks, and interrupt each suzu bell charge by finding the boss in the fog and landing physical damage before it finishes charging. The available walkthrough reports that three successful interruptions advance the fight; treat that count as guide-reported behavior, not a guaranteed rule for every run.
Prepare before triggering the fight
The route reaches a preparation room with supplies, a Hokora save point, and a Blessed Hand Mirror. The walkthrough recommends equipping the Naginata before approaching the figure that starts the encounter. Heal, save, and organize your inventory first: the cutscene closes off the route back, and the available supplies can vary with difficulty and what you already carry. Silent Hill Memories’ encounter walkthrough is an unofficial fan guide, so its combat advice is reported guidance rather than firsthand testing for this article.
Read the first-phase attack tells
Do not spend stamina continuously dodging or attack through every tell. The walkthrough recommends waiting for openings, staying out of multi-hit strings, and taking brief chances to counter after an attack ends.
Chained-mace throw and swing
Sakuko-like Entity throws the mace outward on its chain. A second throw may follow; if the entity turns toward Hinako, a swinging arc may finish the sequence. Avoid committing to a long attack while it is winding up, and be ready to evade the follow-up.

Overhead mace slam
When the entity spreads its arms and draws them together, the walkthrough identifies an overhead strike. It reports a red flash before impact and recommends holding focus for a heavy counter, then following with a couple of light attacks. This is guide-reported advice, not independently verified timing.
Mace and sickle combinations
The guide describes a three-hit mace string and a four-hit sequence alternating between sickle and mace. Stay clear until the sequence ends rather than trying to trade hits during it.

Lunging grab
A warning followed by spread arms signals a lunge. The walkthrough describes this grab as unblockable and highly damaging: evade it, then use the short opening for a few light attacks.
Stop the suzu bell charge
After taking enough damage, the entity vanishes into the fog at the arena’s edges and charges a bell attack. Listen for where it has moved, run to that location, and land physical damage before the charge completes. An uninterrupted shockwave is reported to inflict substantial Sanity damage.

- When the entity disappears, pause long enough to locate the sound rather than attacking blindly.
- Move quickly toward the sound at the arena edge.
- Use physical attacks to interrupt the charge before the bell attack goes off.
- After the interruption, return to reading the entity’s attack tells and wait for the next charge opportunity.
The walkthrough reports that three successful interruptions advance the encounter, after which the sequence repeats. It also says counter opportunities become less frequent. These are walkthrough-reported observations, not established as invariant across difficulties or every playthrough. Avoiding a hit from the suzu bell attack is also the condition the guide gives for the “The Sound of Silence” trophy/achievement.

Choose your approach based on how reliably you can read the tells and how much risk you are willing to accept. Konami’s Patch 1.10 notes say stamina replenishes slightly faster, Hinako takes slightly less damage on Hard, and enemy placements and unskippable combat encounters were reduced across multiple sections. Those notes do not describe a boss-specific damage comparison or a change to this entity’s attack patterns, and they provide no measured Lost in the Fog comparison.

Patch 1.10 does address a relevant encounter bug: Konami says it “Fixed bug where the Sakuko-like entity stops moving in combat during the ‘Defeat the Sakuko-like entity’ objective.” If the entity stops moving during that objective, the notes establish that Konami fixed a bug of that type, but do not provide a recovery procedure for an affected save.
Who is the Sakuko-like Entity?
The encounter is described in the guides as the “Sakuko-like Entity”; the name alone does not establish that the creature is literally Sakuko. PlayStation’s character page for Igarashi Sakuko identifies her as a friend of Hinako and Shu, says her family manages the local Shinto shrine, and notes her help with ritual duties. Konami describes Silent Hill f as set in 1960s Japan, in Ebisugaoka, on its game page.

Konami lists Silent Hill f for PS5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S on its official product page.
