Sassy Chap Games developed the dating sim, and Team17 announced its publishing partnership with the studio on July 29, 2024. The available launch information shows how the game was positioned and where it was planned to release; it does not establish sales performance or prove that any particular launch choice succeeded in a “tricky” market.
What is Date Everything! about?
Date Everything! is a sandbox dating simulator set in the player’s home. Its central device, the fictional Dateviator glasses, lets the player encounter household objects and concepts as characters. The hook turns an everyday setting into a roster of potential relationships rather than a conventional dating-sim cast.

Sassy Chap Games describes the game as having 100 fully voice-acted datable characters. Team17’s July 2024 announcement gave additional launch-era production figures: more than four hours of music, more than 11,000 hand-drawn images, 1.2 million words, and 70,000 voice lines. Those are publisher-reported figures from 2024, not independently audited measurements.
How do the relationship choices work?
Each dateable character can lead to one of three relationship resolutions: Love, Friend, or Hate. Choices therefore do more than determine whether a date succeeds; they can steer a character’s story toward romance, friendship, or rejection. Team17 described the outcomes as supporting “an endless panoply of playthroughs,” a promotional characterization rather than a measured count of distinct paths.

When did it launch, and where can you play it?
Steam records Date Everything! as released on June 17, 2025. Team17’s 2024 announcement planned releases for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official game site currently links to Steam and the three console platforms.
Steam categorizes the game as a single-player simulation and lists English interface, full audio, and subtitles. Its developers’ content note mentions bad language, sexual innuendo and references, alcohol, and tobacco; this is a store-page note, not an independent age rating.

What does the launch strategy show—and what can’t it prove?
The positioning is clear: a distinctive, easily explained fantasy, a large voice-acted cast, branching character outcomes, and a release plan spanning PC and major consoles. Team17 said the game had “options for a wide array of player preferences and tastes.” That is the publisher’s marketing language, not evidence that the game suits every player or that its launch reached a particular audience.
The available launch facts do not establish sales, revenue, profitability, player acquisition, market share, or whether the platform plan or premise caused commercial success. Calling the market “tricky” provides context for the assignment’s framing, but these facts alone cannot show how the game performed against that market or why.

What does the studio report about the game now?
On the Sassy Chap Games homepage checked October 8, 2026, the studio reported “725,000+ Players Joined the Chaos,” “100+ Professional Voice Actors,” “95% Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam,” “82% Critics Score across major outlets,” and “1 Billion+ Organic Views & Mentions.” These are studio-reported figures; the page does not display a measurement methodology or explicit measurement dates. They should not be read as launch-day results or as independently verified metrics. Steam review counts and ratings are also volatile storefront data, so any quoted figure should be checked on Steam and dated at publication.
