What is the Season of Witchcraft questline about?
The Tree of Whispers’ captive Heads have gone missing and escaped in search of bodies. You join the Witches of Hawezar to recover them, investigate who stole them, and learn Witchcraft Powers that augment and empower existing skills, according to Blizzard’s announcement.

How to start the questline
- If you own Vessel of Hatred: Complete the expansion campaign prologue first. Blizzard specified this prerequisite for expansion owners.
- Travel to Gea Kul and speak with Witch Gelena to begin the seasonal questline. Blizzard announced that it would start January 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. PST; that was the launch time, not confirmation that it remains available now.
Season of Witchcraft quest order and early objectives
Game8’s Season 7 walkthrough, last updated January 24, 2025, lists these quests in order. Its objectives are secondary-source gameplay directions rather than an official Blizzard transcript.

Opening: investigate the roots and return to Gelena
The walkthrough directs players to investigate clues and enter the Overgrown Tenement. Interact with the exposed roots, defeat the enemies that appear, then speak with Gelena. At the Tree of Whispers, inspect Coven’s Favor and an Altar of Witchcraft. The guide then directs players to earn six Grim Favors through Whispers and return to Gelena.

Later objectives include finding Ouna’s hideout in Hawezar, destroying a Shrouding Charm, investigating the hideout, and confronting Headrotten enemies. Use those named objectives as navigation cues; the available source does not establish that this route or wording is unchanged in the current game.
Can’t find Witch Gelena?
- Check that you are in the correct seasonal quest state; this is a useful check, not a guaranteed fix.
- If you own Vessel of Hatred, verify that its campaign prologue is complete. Blizzard explicitly lists this as a prerequisite.
- Keep in mind that Season of Witchcraft is not the live season as of October 8, 2026, and current access to its questline has not been confirmed.
