The SCUF Valor Pro Wired with Hall Effect thumbsticks is a compelling high-end Xbox and Windows controller if you want four rear paddles, adjustable triggers and a wired connection—and can find it near SCUF’s observed US listing price of $89.99. It is not a wireless controller, and its price can change, so its value depends on whether its controls matter more to you than freedom from a cable.
What the SCUF Valor Pro Wired offers
SCUF lists the Valor Pro Wired for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11. It connects over USB-C, and SCUF includes a 10-foot USB-C cable. The listing also specifies a one-year warranty. SCUF’s product page is the source for these specifications and the feature list.
- Four rear paddles: Assign controller functions to the paddles so you can reach selected inputs without moving your thumbs from the sticks.
- Adjustable instant triggers: Select a short, mouse-click-like action or restore the triggers’ full range of motion. The shorter setting may suit games that reward quick trigger presses; full travel is useful when you want finer control.
- Interchangeable thumbsticks: Swap the sticks to suit your preferred shape or feel.
- Hall Effect thumbsticks: SCUF says the design is intended to increase durability and resist wear. That is a manufacturer claim, not proof that drift cannot happen or that every controller will last longer.
- Other controls and customization: The controller has a performance grip, removable faceplate, profile switch and audio controls. SCUF lists 1K Hz polling on PC.
How the wired connection changes the buying decision
The Valor Pro Wired has no wireless connection. You need to play with the included USB-C cable connected, which can be a sensible trade if the controller will be used at a desk or near the console. If you play from a couch and want to move freely, or simply do not want a cable across your space, this is the wrong version to buy.
The cable is part of the product’s value, not an optional extra: SCUF includes one in the box. Consider the route from your console or PC to your seat before deciding that the wired design is acceptable.

Is it relatively affordable for a high-end controller?
When checked for this article, SCUF’s US product page listed the Hall Effect Valor Pro Wired at $89.99, reduced from $99.99. That is a dated US seller price, not a guaranteed or worldwide price; check the listing for your region before buying. SCUF’s listing supports the observed price.
At that listed price, the combination of four paddles, adjustable triggers, Hall Effect sticks and Xbox licensing makes the controller look feature-rich for the money. But “affordable” is relative: a cheaper controller may be a better fit if you will not use the extra controls, while a wireless alternative may justify a higher price if cutting the cable is important to you. Compare live prices for the exact model and region rather than treating the listing as a stable benchmark.

Do not confuse it with the other Valor models
SCUF sells several similarly named controllers. Their specifications and review coverage are not interchangeable.
| Model | Connection | Stick technology | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Valor Pro Wired with Hall Effect thumbsticks | Wired USB-C; no wireless connection | Hall Effect | SCUF’s official listing identifies this as the Xbox and Windows model covered here. |
| Valor Pro Wireless | Wireless; PC Gamer describes tri-mode connectivity | TMR | Separate product. PC Gamer’s review discusses this model, not the Hall Effect wired version. |
| Valor Wired with TMR | Wired | TMR | A distinct product reviewed by TechRadar; its price and review findings should not be assigned to the Hall Effect Valor Pro. |
SCUF’s controller comparison guide distinguishes specifications across the product family. The TechRadar review concerns the Valor Wired with TMR, while PC Gamer’s review covers the Valor Pro Wireless. Neither is a hands-on review of the Hall Effect Valor Pro Wired.
Who should buy it—and who should skip it?
It makes sense if
- You play Xbox or Windows games with a wired controller and want to stay connected by cable.
- You will use rear paddles to keep your thumbs on the sticks during play.
- You want a choice between short trigger action and full trigger travel.
- You value interchangeable sticks, audio controls and profile switching enough to pay more than you would for a basic controller.
Look elsewhere if
- You need wireless play. Consider the distinct Valor Pro Wireless, but check its price and specifications separately.
- You do not expect to use paddles or adjustable triggers; a less expensive controller may cover your needs.
- You want a proven guarantee against stick drift. SCUF describes the Hall Effect sticks as designed for increased durability and wear resistance, but that does not establish drift-proof performance.
Verdict
The SCUF Valor Pro Wired is a strong high-end option for Xbox and Windows players who want paddles and adjustable triggers without paying for wireless functionality. SCUF’s observed US price of $89.99 made it relatively affordable for a feature-rich controller, but that listing can change. The decisive question is whether you are happy to play tethered: if not, choose a wireless model rather than buying this one and hoping it behaves like one.
