The report quoted the account as saying that “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat,” allowing revival once per Night boss battle, would be added, and that the amount of runes gained would increase. The X post itself was not directly available for verification here, so the wording is attributed to the account as reproduced by PC Gamer.

One automatic revival per Night boss battle
The promised revival is limited to once during each Night boss battle. It gives a solo player an opportunity to return after defeat during that encounter; the announcement did not promise repeated revives within a fight or describe a broader change to the game’s difficulty.
More runes in solo expeditions
The other announced change was increased rune gains for solo play. The announcement did not quantify the increase, so there is no supported percentage or fixed number to cite. More runes mean faster accumulation in solo expeditions, but the announcement alone does not establish how much easier a run becomes.

Why “next week” is no longer current
The headline’s timing comes from a May 30, 2025 report. Bandai Namco had already published version 1.01 on May 29. Its public notes covered character handling, soundtrack and text adjustments, balance adjustments, added character scenarios, and bug fixes, but did not detail specific solo-play buffs. The May 30 report then described the solo improvements as coming the following week.
Those dates should not be confused with version 1.02: Bandai Namco published that update on July 31, 2025, with broader gameplay and bug fixes. Its release date is later than the announcement’s “next week” window and does not make it the patch described by that phrase.

Does Nightreign support solo play?
Yes. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware describe ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN as a co-op action survival game that also supports single-player. It launched on May 30, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam. Platform and edition availability can vary by market.
What the first patch said about PC performance
Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s May 29, 2025 version 1.01 notes said, “This update aims to improve gameplay and stability.” They also warned that some PC configurations using the latest graphics cards might experience frame-rate drops. The publisher suggested lowering graphics settings or resolution and installing current graphics drivers; it did not recommend buying new hardware.

What the available numbers do—and do not—show
Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware reported that more than 5 million units had shipped worldwide as of July 2025. That is a company-reported shipment figure, not a count of active players or people using solo mode. The cited announcements and patch notes do not quantify solo-player uptake, changes to win rates, or how often players use the revival.
