Sky of Tides is a choice-driven sci-fi adventure about Rin D’Lorah’s search for her missing father in a fractured world of floating oceans and nine planetoids. Its story choices shape five character traits and can lead to 32 endings, according to developer Lofty Sky Entertainment. Reaching the game’s true ending unlocks Sky of Tides: Atla, a five-episode animated series set in the same universe. Steam currently lists the game’s release date as “To be announced” and says it is not yet available there.
What is Sky of Tides?
Sky of Tides is a narrative-focused science-fiction adventure with RPG elements, developed by Lofty Sky Entertainment and published by ESDigital Games. Players follow Rin D’Lorah, a teenager living on Yantar who sets out to find her missing father, Dr. Lu D’Lorah.
The story takes place in numen9, a world shattered into nine planetoids after the Great Catastrophe. Oceans hang in the sky above the fragments, while the exposed Inner Sun and scarce resources contribute to a dangerous, divided society. Official descriptions place the Syndicate and the Sovereign at the center of the political conflict; these are elements of the game’s fictional world, not real-world scientific claims.
How do choices and traits work?
Dialogue and exploration choices affect Rin’s character traits and the story’s branches. The five traits named by the developer are Intelligence, Humor, Courage, Compassion, and Luck. Steam’s product description also lists nine fully voiced episodes, exploration, hidden objects, customization suits, and multiple endings; these are advertised features rather than independently verified gameplay findings.

Why balance matters
Lofty Sky says the game has 32 endings and that reaching thresholds across the traits matters to outcomes. The developer describes a balanced approach—not focusing all progression in one direction—as the route to the true ending. Creative director Judith Cheung explained the design this way: “This is a broken, divided world that’s totally out of balance,” adding that the trait mechanic was intended to arise from Rin’s motivations and that the world rewards balance.
What is Sky of Tides: Atla?
Sky of Tides: Atla is a five-episode animated series set in the same universe. It follows Atla Gildeon and her twin brother Kryll on a secret mission connected to the Syndicate. The game’s official product pages describe the series as an unlockable linked to completing the true ending; one page says in-game availability is for a limited time.

Lofty Sky’s May 27, 2025 announcement said the first episode was scheduled for a June 5 world premiere at the New Media Film Festival. That dated premiere plan does not establish where the series can be watched now. The developer has also mentioned special retail box sets that would include the series, but that mention alone does not confirm a currently available edition, retailer, territory, or stock.

At the time of the current Steam listing, the release date is “To be announced,” and the game is not yet available on Steam. That older window is an announced plan, not confirmation that the game has launched on those platforms.
