Is it Monster High’s first game in nine years?
The phrase is a reasonable shorthand for the gap between two dated console-game listings, rather than an exact nine-year interval. Nintendo UK lists Monster High: New Ghoul in School for Wii U as released on November 26, 2015; Skulltimate Secrets followed on October 29, 2024, a little less than nine years later. Nintendo UK’s listing for New Ghoul in School documents that earlier date. The comparison supports the rounded wording, but does not prove there were no Monster High mobile, web, or other games during the whole interval.

Nintendo US says the Switch version’s game behavior is supported on Nintendo Switch 2. That is a compatibility statement, not evidence of a separate native Switch 2 edition.
What kind of game is Skulltimate Secrets?
It is presented as a single-player 3D platform adventure built around exploring Monster High and investigating a mystery. The setup is the player character’s first day at school, when strange events and hidden rooms lead to a search for clues and a way to restore peace.

Create a monster and explore the school
Players make a monster character, choose from six monster types, and customize hair, clothes, and accessories. The story brings the new student together with Draculaura, Frankie Stein, and Clawdeen Wolf, collectively known as the Boo Crew. The official listings describe exploration, hidden rooms, and collecting monster keys.
Find keys and unlock abilities
Keys open areas including an ancient door, while skills help the character move through the school. Nintendo gives Vampire Jump and Gorgon Dash as examples. Monster Points can be exchanged for fashion items. These are feature descriptions from the publisher and storefronts; they do not establish how the game performs or how long it takes to finish.

Is it multiplayer?
No multiplayer mode is listed: Nintendo, Steam, and PlayStation describe the game as single-player or for one player. The PlayStation listing also specifies offline play. Nintendo UK lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes for Switch, which describe ways to play on that console rather than additional players.
