Tribbie and Mydei fill different roles
Version 3.1 offered two distinct five-star options. HoYoverse described Tribbie as a Quantum Harmony support and Mydei as an Imaginary Destruction damage dealer. What Tribbie brings
Tribbie’s announced kit includes a field that makes enemies take more damage, increased All-Type penetration for allies, and additional damage linked to ally attacks. HoYoverse also describes her performing follow-up attacks. In practical terms, consider her if you already have a damage dealer you like and want a support focused on amplifying team output.
A HoYoLAB guide reports that Tribbie’s level 10 Skill grants allies 24% All-Type RES PEN and that her Ultimate field increases enemy damage taken by 30%. The guide also describes additional Quantum damage tied to allies’ attacks. These are reported kit values, not a general measure of her strength or a guarantee that she improves every team equally. What Mydei brings
Mydei is the more direct choice if you want to add a damage dealer. HoYoverse describes him consuming his own HP to gain buffs; after consuming a certain amount, he enters a state and automatically uses a powerful skill. Check your priorities before spending pulls
- Look at the role you are missing. If your main need is support for a damage dealer you already enjoy, Tribbie matches that goal more directly. If you want another carry, Mydei matches it more directly.
- Consider the play style and team-building involved. Tribbie’s value is tied to supporting allies; Mydei’s kit asks you to account for his HP consumption while building around his damage.
- Weigh the opportunity cost. Your available pulls and other account priorities matter. The available character descriptions do not establish that either character is mandatory or best for every team.
Version 3.1 banner timing
Version 3.1 is a past banner cycle, not current banner information. A HoYoLAB community post reported Tribbie and Yunli in phase one, followed by Mydei and Huohuo in phase two. HoYoLAB’s reported Version 3.1 lineup HoYoverse also published a Version 3.1 special program featuring character introductions for Tribbie and Mydei. For the Version 3.1 choice, prioritize Tribbie if your roster needs a team-wide support, and prioritize Mydei if you want a new carry and are comfortable building around HP consumption. If neither fills a clear need, saving your pulls is a reasonable option; the available evidence does not support a universal winner.
