Days Gone Remastered is real: Bend Studio released it for PS5 on April 25, 2025. But “before Bloodborne” is a comparison, not proof that Sony chose one game over the other. Sony’s official sources confirm the Days Gone release; they do not establish a planned Bloodborne remaster or explain Sony’s decision-making.
What Sony actually released
Bend Studio announced Days Gone Remastered on February 12, 2025, with Climax Studios collaborating on the project. It launched for PS5 on April 25, 2025. The studio described it as an expanded version of the 2019 game, with additional modes, accessibility options, and technical improvements. Bend Studio’s announcement called it a digital-only PS5 release.

The announcement also said new content and features would arrive on PC through the Broken Road DLC for owners of Days Gone on Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 25, 2025. That PC update is distinct from the PS5 remaster release.
What the remaster adds
New ways to play
- Horde Assault: A standalone mode built around surviving increasingly difficult Freaker hordes. Larger hordes are exclusive to this mode; they are not added to the story campaign.
- Permadeath: A challenge mode in which death ends the run, intended for players who want higher stakes.
- Speedrun: A mode focused on completing the game quickly.
- New Game+: Included for players who want to start another story run with progress carried over.
PS5 presentation and controls
Bend listed Performance mode at 1440p targeting 60 frames per second and Quality mode at native 4K targeting 30 frames per second on base PS5. Its technical update said an additional 40 FPS mode would arrive in a later patch. The remaster also adds PS5 visual improvements and support for DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The studio’s announcement and technical update describe these features.

Accessibility, saves, and trophies
The remaster expands accessibility features. Bend Studio’s FAQ says players can import PS4 saves and that six trophies are added to the original game’s 61. Consult the FAQ for the specific save-import process and feature details.

Sony’s supplemental report records 1.0 million cumulative sell-through units for Bloodborne as of April 5, 2015, 11 days after its U.S. release. That is an early historical total, not a current sales figure or evidence of demand for a remaster. Sony’s supplemental identifies the figure and date.

Does this mean Bloodborne is getting a remaster?
No such conclusion follows from the Days Gone release. The official sources cited here confirm Days Gone Remastered and list Bloodborne as a PS4 game; they do not announce a Bloodborne remaster or establish that one is in development. Nor do they give a reason for the timing of the two games. Claims about Sony’s motives or an unannounced project would go beyond what these sources support.

Those are announcement-era U.S. figures, not a statement of current pricing. The PS5 version was described as digital-only.
