Where is Cassiopeia IV-a?
Open the Starmap and locate the Eta Cassiopeia system, then select Cassiopeia IV-a. Game8 identifies it as an explorable moon in that system, and a Steam Community guide also lists the moon under Eta Cassiopeia. The community guide labels the system level as 20; treat that as a guide listing rather than a measure of the moon’s resources or survey difficulty.

How to survey the moon
Starfield uses the same general exploration process on Cassiopeia IV-a as on other worlds. Xbox Wire’s exploration guide explains that an orbital scan can show basic resources, that the Scanning skill can reveal rarer ones, and that the planet map can help you choose a landing area. The Starmap also presents world information such as type, gravity, temperature, atmosphere, and whether flora or fauna are present. These are general game mechanics, not moon-specific guarantees.

- Find the moon: In the Starmap, travel to Eta Cassiopeia and select Cassiopeia IV-a.
- Scan from orbit: Review the available world and resource information before landing. If a resource is not visible, your Scanning skill may affect what the scan reveals.
- Choose a landing area: Use the planet map’s available resource information to guide your landing choice. The sources do not establish a guaranteed biome or landing site for any particular resource on this moon.
- Survey on the surface: Use your scanner to find and scan survey targets, then check its remaining counts as you explore. For planetary traits, look for unusual or anomalous surface features and scan them.
- Check completion in-game: Use the scanner’s own survey status to see what remains rather than relying on a third-party list as a complete checklist.
