Which multiplayer games appeared among Steam’s 2025 top sellers?
A contemporaneous report identified these 12 games in Steam’s 2025 Top Sellers by revenue group:

This is a group, not a verified first-through-twelfth ranking: the report describes the titles together without establishing their exact order within the group. The list is attributed to GamesIndustry.biz’s reporting; Steam announced its year-end Best of 2025 roundup on December 29, 2025, but the accessible announcement does not itself provide a readable chart table.
Several entries are multiplayer-focused, but the group also includes games with different play formats. The list alone does not establish a multiplayer share, and it should not be read as a claim that multiplayer games made up a majority of Steam’s top sellers.

What does Steam mean by “Top Sellers”?
Steam’s Top Sellers category is based on revenue, not the number of copies sold. Valve’s Steamworks documentation explains that it is “Based on total revenue, including all sources such as DLC and in-game transactions so we can get a more complete picture.” Revenue can therefore reflect a game’s base purchase as well as eligible additional spending.
Valve also says, “The list is localized for your region.” A player’s regional chart may differ from another region’s chart; do not assume a single universal ordering. Steam’s live chart is explicitly labeled “Top 100 selling games right now, by revenue”, and its current rows are not evidence of a game’s annual position.
How is the annual list different from Most Played?
Steam’s Best of roundup separates Top Sellers from categories including Most Played and Top New Releases. Each describes a different kind of performance:

Can the list show which games sold the most copies?
No. A revenue-based group cannot by itself identify unit-sales leaders. The games may have different prices, discounts, downloadable content, and in-game transactions, and Valve’s stated metric includes those revenue sources. The cited reporting provides no exact revenue totals or copies-sold figures for these titles.
