Does DualSense work with God of War Ragnarök on PC?
Yes. Santa Monica Studio lists DualSense as a supported controller and says the game supports Steam Input. The studio’s PC Patch 4 notes document a fix for an issue where DualSense would not work wirelessly. That records a historical bug fix; it does not establish that every connection problem today has the same cause.
Try the steps below in order, retesting in the game after each change so you can identify what helped.
Steps to troubleshoot DualSense connection problems

Install the latest game update
In your game library, check for an available update for God of War Ragnarök and install it before troubleshooting further. Patch 4 specifically addressed a wireless DualSense failure, so playing an older build may leave that documented issue unresolved. The available patch notes do not establish the latest current version.

Pair the controller with the PC again
For Bluetooth, first turn off the DualSense. Hold the Create button and PS button together until the light bar blinks, then choose the controller in your PC’s Bluetooth device list. PlayStation’s PC pairing guidance says a DualSense can be paired with one device at a time. If you recently used it with another host, pair it with the PC again.

Test with a USB connection
Connect the controller directly to the PC using a known-good, data-capable USB cable, then launch or return to the game and check whether input is recognized. If it is not, try another USB port. A USB test helps distinguish a Bluetooth pairing or connection issue from a problem with game input. Santa Monica Studio recommends wired USB for the full DualSense feature set; a cable you already own is enough for this test.

Toggle Steam Input for Ragnarök
In Steam, open the game’s Properties, select Controller, and use the per-game Steam Input override to test the alternative setting. Santa Monica Studio says Steam Input is supported, but its controller troubleshooting FAQ also suggests trying the game with Steam Input disabled. Treat this as a diagnostic toggle, not a guaranteed fix: the result can depend on your controller, Steam configuration, and game build.

Disconnect other controllers
Unplug or disconnect other gamepads and input devices, then test the DualSense by itself. Santa Monica Studio includes disconnecting additional controllers among its troubleshooting suggestions.

What USB and Bluetooth support mean for DualSense features
Connection and feedback features are separate questions. Santa Monica Studio’s supported-controller guidance recommends wired USB for the full set of DualSense features. Its Patch 5 notes say a DualSense connected wirelessly defaults to rumble backup because haptics are available only over a wired connection.

If the controller is detected and gameplay input works but haptics are absent over Bluetooth, that matches the studio’s stated wireless behavior; by itself, it does not show that the controller has failed.

If the controller still is not recognized
Retest after each change: updated game, fresh Bluetooth pairing, USB connection, the other Steam Input override, and no other connected controllers. If the DualSense works over USB but not Bluetooth, focus on Bluetooth pairing and connection. If neither mode works in Ragnarök, the steps above have not isolated the cause; the cited guidance does not identify a single fix for every remaining failure.
