What began as a September 2026 forum rumor is now confirmed: Blizzard announced Warcraft III: Reforged Patch 3.0 and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign at BlizzCon 2026, and says both are available now. The update adds a new campaign, refreshed graphics, World Editor changes, and a multiplayer hero—not the rumored Naga race or other unconfirmed features.
What was rumored—and what Blizzard confirmed
A September 9, 2026, thread on Blizzard’s Warcraft III forum collected community claims about a major update, internal testing, and a possible BlizzCon reveal. The original poster urged readers to take the claims “with a big grain of salt”; the thread was speculation, not a Blizzard announcement. Its guesses included phrases such as “Warcraft III 3.0” and possibilities like new maps, a Naga race, or a campaign. Blizzard’s later announcement confirmed Patch 3.0 and Forsaken Kingdom, but does not confirm those other ideas.
Blizzard’s BlizzCon panel recap and opening-ceremony recap say the patch and campaign are available now. The official campaign announcement says Forsaken Kingdom requires Warcraft III: Reforged.
What the Forsaken Kingdom campaign covers
Forsaken Kingdom fills in part of the story between Warcraft III and World of Warcraft. Blizzard describes it as following Sylvanas Windrunner and the Forsaken as they escape the Scourge and join the Horde. The events fall after Arthas’s return to Lordaeron and lead toward the rise of the Undercity.
#1 Best Overall
Blizzard says the campaign includes a Last Days of Lordaeron prologue and three campaign chapters. The campaign announcement also lists digital game and campaign purchase options through the Battle.net Shop. It describes the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection as a bundle of game access and in-game benefits; its contents and availability may change.
What Patch 3.0 adds
Definitive Edition graphics
Patch 3.0 adds Definitive Edition graphics, which players can switch between and Classic graphics. Blizzard says cross-graphics play remains supported, so players using different visual modes can still play together.
Rank #2
Blizzard describes Definitive Edition as a mode intended to retain Warcraft III’s silhouettes, readability, and stylized identity while increasing visual fidelity. Its 2026 panel recap says the graphics rebuild more than 600 units and refresh environments, lighting, effects, and structures. Those figures and descriptions are Blizzard’s, not independent measurements.
World Editor changes
The patch includes an updated World Editor. Blizzard’s recap confirms the editor update but does not specify a complete feature list in its announcement, so the forum thread’s speculation about new maps should not be treated as a confirmed addition.

What has not been confirmed
The official announcements establish the campaign, graphics mode, editor update, and Forsaken Paladin. They do not establish the forum thread’s other speculative possibilities, including a Naga race or specific new maps. Treat those as community guesses unless Blizzard announces them separately.
