The Spire of the Stars is in Everfrost, north of Scholastone Institute. After defeating Tenebrum and receiving the key from Dean Gundrir, enter the tower, collect three Engraved Stones with Force Palm, and set the symbol panels in this top-to-bottom order: sideways hourglass, circle, triangle, square. The lift will carry you to the Abyss Gate.
Where to find the Spire of the Stars
Look for the tower in the Everfrost mountains, north of Scholastone Institute and west of the Witchwoods. Follow the mountain path and stairs to its entrance. For location references, see VULKK’s walkthrough and the Pywel guide.

How to get the key and enter
The guides place access in Chapter IV, after the Tenebrum encounter: Dean Gundrir gives you the Key to the Spire of the Stars. Quest and subtitle labels differ between guides, so use your current in-game journal to confirm the relevant objective rather than relying on a particular subquest name. How to solve the symbol-panel lift puzzle
- Find the three Engraved Stones. In the rooms beside the main chamber, activate the stone buttons with Force Palm. Collect the stones that appear. The PC Gamer guide also describes using Force Palm to reveal the puzzle pieces.
- Read the wall murals. The murals in the side rooms show the intended positions of the symbols.
- Place the stones. Insert all three Engraved Stones into the slots in the central wall. This activates the sliding symbol panels.
- Move the panels into position. Climb the wall and hang from each panel’s bar to pull it down. Match the symbols to the mural. If you move a panel too far, one guide notes that Force Palm can push it upward to reposition it.
- Set the final order from top to bottom: sideways hourglass, circle, triangle, square. Some walkthroughs describe the arrangement using a different direction, but this vertical order resolves the orientation difference. The same sequence appears in VULKK and PowerPyx’s guide.
- Ride the lift. Once the symbols are aligned, take the activated lift to the top and continue up the stairs.
Reach the Abyss Gate
The stairs lead to an Abyss Gate. Step off the lift promptly when it reaches the top: PowerPyx reports that it descends again if you wait too long. Guides use different names for the area beyond the gate—Pywel calls it the Secret Garden, while Game8 describes access to Sanctorum of Insight. Treat those as guide-specific destination names rather than interchangeable labels.
