The toll varies by station; some access points use a lever or become available through progression instead of a standard Geo payment.
How do Stag Stations work?
Stations connect through the underground Stagways. After opening a station, strike its bell with the Nail to call the Last Stag. At an open station, ring the bell to summon him unless it is the last station you used; once he arrives, choose another unlocked stop for travel. Opening a station and summoning the Stag are separate steps.
The Last Stag is the remaining stag in Hallownest. He offers free rides between unlocked stations and can talk about nearby areas. As he puts it in game: “I’ve grown stiff and tired over these many years and I’ve forgotten much, but the sound of the bell will always call me back.”
What does it cost to open a Stag Station?
The community-maintained Hollow Knight Wiki’s Fast Travel page lists the following Geo tolls and access conditions. Treat these as in-game guidance rather than official technical documentation.

Station tolls are paid to open access, not for each ride. Once stations are unlocked, the Last Stag’s travel between them is free.
How do I mark stations on the map?
Iselda sells the Stag Station Pin for 100 Geo after you open your first station. The pin marks discovered stations on maps. Its 100 Geo cost is for the map item, not a station toll.

How do I unlock the Stag Nest?
In normal progression, the Stag Nest becomes available after you open the other available stations. The Last Stag then remembers his birthplace and can take the Knight there. Its call bell is broken, so do not expect to summon him there in the usual way. This progression guidance reflects community-wiki reporting; it is distinct from route exploits that may reach the area earlier.
