Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update arrived on consoles and mobile on November 4, 2024, as version 1.6.9. The date was announced by developer ConcernedApe in September, and a forum administrator confirmed the rollout on launch day while warning that it might take time to appear on individual devices.
When did Stardew Valley 1.6 come to consoles and mobile?
ConcernedApe announced on September 22, 2024 that the console and mobile ports would release on November 4, 2024. The ports launched as version 1.6.9; the announcement said that version would also come to PC around the same time. Read the official release-date announcement.

On November 4, a Stardew Valley forum administrator confirmed that 1.6.9 was available for console and mobile, noting that the update could take time to show up on a device. If it did not appear immediately, the launch-day advice was to allow time for its availability to propagate. See the launch-day forum post.
What did the 1.6 update add?
Version 1.6 was a substantial content update, not just a platform release. Its additions span activities, farming, progression, characters, and quality-of-life changes. The official 1.6 changelog lists the full set of changes.

New events and activities
- The three-day Desert Festival, plus the Trout Derby and SquidFest.
- A summer environmental event and variations to existing festivals.
- A bookseller who visits twice per season, a prize machine, and mystery boxes.
Farming and progression
- Meadowlands Farm, which begins with a coop and two chickens.
- A mastery system that unlocks perks and items.
- Additional crops, items, pets, and home renovations.
More world and quality-of-life changes
The update also adds dialogue, new neighbors, seasonal outfits, map information, secrets, and multiplayer improvements. The changelog’s support for multiplayer with up to eight players is explicitly PC-only; it should not be read as a promise that console or mobile multiplayer gained that player limit in this release.

The 1.6.9 changelog covers the build used for the console and mobile rollout, with further refinements beyond the headline 1.6 content. That release version is a historical starting point, not a full account of every platform’s later patch history. In February 2025, ConcernedApe announced a 1.6.15.1 patch for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch to address console issues and sync content with the latest PC version; the post was edited on February 26 to note its Switch availability. The November 4, 2024 forum post described several issues reported around launch: problems for some PlayStation players in Europe, disappearing chickens reported by some Meadowlands players, and new mobile saves starting with an extra cabin. The post said the developers were working on fixes; these are dated launch reports, not evidence that the problems remain unresolved today. Consult later official updates for the status of any specific issue.
