Stardew Valley 1.6 launched on consoles on November 4, 2024, at version 1.6.9. ConcernedApe announced the date in September 2024; the word “today” in the original release-day headline is now historical. The update had already arrived on PC in March 2024.

What did version 1.6 add?
Version 1.6 was a substantial content update, not just a maintenance patch. Among its additions are a new farm layout, festivals and events, expanded character dialogue, and new progression and pet options. The official full changelog covers the complete list and may reveal details you would prefer to discover in-game.

What happened after the console launch?
Console support continued after version 1.6.9. ConcernedApe announced patch 1.6.15.1 for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch on February 12, 2025, and edited the announcement on February 26 to confirm the Switch version was available. The developer said the patch “addresses several issues on console versions of the game, and syncs up the content with the latest on PC.”
That patch included performance optimizations, a Junimo bundle button in fridge interfaces, fish-pond changes, and fixes for crashes and older saves. Its Switch fixes also addressed gifts being incorrectly treated as loved gifts. These were follow-up maintenance changes, distinct from the original 1.6 content additions. Read the official 1.6.15.1 console patch notes for the full details.

The official patch announcement establishes that console patch 1.6.15.1 was available across the named platforms after the Switch update arrived on February 26, 2025. It does not establish the latest version on every console as of October 8, 2026, so 1.6.15.1 should not be assumed to be current. For platform-specific status, check the game’s update information on your console or the developer’s latest announcements. The community-maintained console version history can provide additional context, but it does not replace platform-specific confirmation.
