Three Body Cores raise Eve’s maximum HP by one upgrade. Guides report 20 Body Cores in the base game, but 18 are enough for the six base-game HP increases and the Perfect Physical Enhancement trophy. One is a reward from Roxanne’s “An Offer You Can’t Refuse” mission in Xion; the others are pickups in story areas.
Some story progression can lock access to earlier areas and collectibles. Use the warnings below to prioritize your route, and treat regional totals from guides cautiously: their published counts do not fully agree.

How Body Cores work—and how many to collect
Each set of three Body Cores grants one increase to Eve’s maximum HP. MapMaster reports 20 cores overall, including 19 world pickups and Roxanne’s Xion mission reward; it says 18 are needed to reach the base-game cap of six HP increases and earn the Perfect Physical Enhancement trophy. Push Square describes 19 discoverable cores and also identifies a Xion mission reward. Because guide terminology and subtotals differ, the reliable practical target is 18 for the base-game HP threshold, not a supposedly definitive area-by-area grand total.

The clues below identify landmarks documented in location guides; they are not a complete, verified turn-by-turn route. Counts published by guides conflict, so use each clue to search the area rather than relying on a regional subtotal.

- Look beneath the stairs at the Parking Tower.
- Check a small bar entered through a broken window.
- Search an alley reached from the eastern subway entrances.
- Inspect near a tunnel edge and a crumbled wall.
- Check the second floor of a building, reached via a wall ledge.
Xion
Complete Roxanne’s side mission, “An Offer You Can’t Refuse,” for its Body Core reward. MapMaster identifies this as the one mission reward among the reported total.
Wasteland
- Search a small cave and a scrap pile.
- Check the clearing behind breakable crates.
- Inspect the container resting on barrels at the end of a large clearing.
Matrix 11
- Check a tunnel beyond a Hive.
- Search crates on an upper platform and the stairs behind the last camp.
- For another clue, push a floating wooden board to reach a raised platform; this traversal is easy to overlook.
Great Desert
- Look on an upper floor reached via exterior ledges.
- Search a small room in a damaged building and rubble at the end of a hill path.
PowerPyx confirms three Body Cores in the Great Desert. The available location clues are not a complete route, so do not infer that these landmarks alone account for every core in the region.

- Check beneath a ramp by a conveyor belt.
- Inspect a partly submerged corpse near a concrete structure.
- Search an infested room by a container.
- Look near stairs reached using an elevator.
These clues may not represent every Spire 4 entry. Verify against a complete current route if you are trying to clear every pickup.

- Before the first point of no return after Abyss Levoire: MapMaster warns that Xion and earlier regions become inaccessible. Complete Roxanne’s mission and collect any Eidos 7 and Wasteland cores you still want before proceeding.
- Before finishing Spire 4 and speaking with Lily to enter the final area: PowerPyx warns that Great Desert collectibles become missable. Clear the Great Desert cores before that transition.
If you have already passed one of these transitions, MapMaster says missed Body Core locations reset in New Game Plus, giving another opportunity to collect them. That reset detail is a guide-source claim; PlayStation’s announcement confirms expanded New Game Plus Core progression but does not document the reset behavior for specific pickups.
What changes in New Game Plus?
New Game Plus extends Body upgrades beyond the base-game ceiling. PlayStation’s official announcement lists Body progression from level 6 to level 9 and says players can collect Cores to strengthen Eve’s weapons, HP, and Beta Energy beyond the base game. The level range describes upgrade levels, not the number of Body Cores. See the PlayStation Blog announcement for the official description.
