The listed numbers are in-game effects transcribed by that reference, not real-world statistics. They have not been independently confirmed against the latest game build, so balance updates may affect them.
Best traits for individual survival
These are strong candidates, not a verified tier list for every difficulty or community. The order assumes you want to reduce the chance that a survivor is lost or sidelined; a different play style can change the order.

Blood Plague Survivor — best for plague-risk protection
The reference lists -100% Plague Infection. That makes it the clearest pick when your main concern is plague exposure, particularly in a high-risk run. The trait’s in-game flavor line, reproduced by the wiki, reads: “I’ve come back from blood plague three times now. I think I’m building up an immunity.”

The reference lists +45 Max Health and -100% Injury Chance. It combines a larger health pool with protection from injury, making it a strong general-purpose option rather than one tied to a single threat.

Just Keeps Going — best for long outings and stamina use
The listed effects are -40% Fatigue Severity and +45 Max Stamina. This is especially appealing for survivors who spend long stretches in the field or rely heavily on stamina-consuming actions.

Incredible Immune System — a direct infection-resistance boost
The reference lists +100 Infection Resistance. It can be valuable when infection resistance is the goal, but the source does not establish that it prevents Blood Plague or is equivalent to Blood Plague Survivor.

When community skills should outrank personal traits
A community-wide capability may matter more than an individual survivor’s combat resilience if the group lacks it. The survivor recommendations page highlights Computers and Medicine: Computers supports an extra outpost slot after upgrading, while Medicine reduces medical costs.
These are useful capabilities, not permanent must-haves. The same source notes that they can be acquired later through other survivors or learning. Before choosing between two recruits, ask whether the group needs the skill now and whether the survivor’s trait complements the role you expect them to fill.

Choose by the job you need done
- Plague protection: Favor Blood Plague Survivor.
- General toughness: Favor Unbreakable.
- Extended field use: Favor Just Keeps Going.
- Infection resistance: Consider Incredible Immune System, without assuming it grants plague immunity.
- A community gap: Consider a survivor who brings Computers or Medicine if your group lacks the capability.
Traits with no gameplay effect can still provide character flavor, but they should not outweigh a useful survival effect or a skill your community needs if your goal is mechanical advantage. A personal combat trait and a community skill solve different problems, so compare them against the survivor’s intended role rather than treating them as interchangeable.
What the ranking can—and cannot—establish
There is no source-backed ranking that holds across all difficulties, community setups, and play styles. Player discussions sometimes favor Blood Plague Survivor, but that is opinion, not evidence of a representative consensus. The trait reference provides specific listed effects; it does not prove a universal “best” order or confirm every value against the current version.
