Stellar Blade ranked No. 1 on Circana’s U.S. premium-game dollar-sales chart for April 2024, while Fallout 4 climbed to fifth and Fallout 76 to eighth. The chart measures sales rank—not copies sold—and the sources reporting it do not disclose an individual sales total for Stellar Blade.
What the April chart shows
Circana’s U.S. premium-game ranking placed Stellar Blade first for the reporting period April 7 through May 4, 2024, according to GameSpot’s description of the period. Helldivers II was second, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III third, Sea of Thieves fourth, and Fallout 4 fifth. GameSpot’s April top-20 chart and period notes and GamesBeat’s report and chart reproduce the ranking.

This is a U.S. ranking by premium-game dollar sales, not a global chart, an all-time list, or a unit-sales count. Circana’s chart incorporates physical and digital sales as covered by its reporting, but chart notes exclude some Nintendo and/or Xbox digital sales for marked titles. The figures therefore should not be read as perfectly uniform digital coverage for every game and platform.

How far Fallout games climbed
Several games in the Fallout catalog rose sharply in Circana’s U.S. dollar-sales rankings from March to April 2024. Mat Piscatella, Circana’s executive producer for games reports, connected the gains to the TV adaptation’s release, writing that it had a positive impact on purchasing and play of the catalog. That is his interpretation of the timing and chart movement, not a controlled estimate proving how much the show caused sales to change.
| Fallout game or release | March 2024 rank | April 2024 rank |
|---|---|---|
| Fallout 4 | 87 | 5 |
| Fallout 76 | 159 | 8 |
| Fallout: New Vegas | 193 | 24 |
| Fallout 3 | 316 | 37 |
| Fallout 4 VR | 605 | 99 |
| Fallout/Fallout 2/Fallout: Tactics bundle | 668 | 122 |
| Fallout SPECIAL Anthology | 3,976 | 137 |
These are the March and April ranks listed in Piscatella’s post comparing the Fallout catalog’s positions. A rank jump is not a percentage increase in sales: it indicates a change in relative position among tracked products, not how many more copies sold.

What No. 1 says—and what it does not
The chart establishes that Stellar Blade led the reported U.S. premium-game dollar-sales ranking that month. It does not publish the game’s unit sales or title-level revenue, so the ranking cannot support an exact sales estimate.
Piscatella also cautioned against treating the top position as proof of an unprecedented blockbuster. GamesBeat reproduced his comparison that Stellar Blade had the lowest sales of an April chart leader since Prototype 2 ranked first in April 2012. That is relative historical context, not a disclosed dollar or unit figure; GamesBeat’s report carries the qualification.

The monthly result also differs from the year-to-date view: after its April debut, Stellar Blade ranked 16th on Circana’s 2024 U.S. year-to-date premium-game chart, as reported in Piscatella’s April market highlights.
Other April chart context
Sea of Thieves finished fourth after its PlayStation release during April, and Grounded reached 12th after also arriving on PlayStation. Those placements coincide with platform expansions, but this monthly chart alone cannot isolate how much either release contributed to sales.
The broader U.S. market was mixed. Piscatella reported projected April spending of $4.1 billion across video-game hardware, content, and accessories, down 3% year over year. Content spending rose 2%, while hardware fell 43% to $208 million and accessories declined 4%. These are category-level market figures, not sales totals for any individual game. The reported market details appear in Piscatella’s April 2024 U.S. highlights.
