How to unlock the Robot Terminal
Advance Crafting with Zerine at the General Store. The independent Starsand Island Wiki Robot Terminal guide describes Senior Crafter as the step that unlocks Worktable III, with the terminal blueprint tied to Expert Crafter certification. It places the terminal among the last or near-last Expert Crafter tasks, followed by reporting back to Zerine to complete certification.

Progression wording and task order are not fully established as a universal fixed chain. Use the current task list in your game to identify the next requirement rather than relying on an exact sequence of quest names. Item data also identifies the Robot Terminal as a Worktable III item and says its blueprint is unlocked by starting Expert Crafter certification (Starsand Island Wiki.gg machine item data).

Getting robots before the terminal
The guide reports that Islandpedia Gatherables stamp rewards include one Gathering Robot at 67 stamps, and one Mining Robot plus one Logging Robot at 89 stamps. A robot obtained this way still needs a placed Robot Terminal before it can work.
Where to place the Robot Terminal
Homestead automation
For Gathering assignments involving crops, flowers, seeds or ranch byproducts, place the terminal on your homestead. The guide describes these as farm-side jobs.
Moonlit Forest mining and logging
For forest resource collection, place the terminal within a Moonlit Forest campsite area. The guide warns that placing it directly on a raw ore node or on cave flooring outside a camp area may not work. Mining assignments use selectable forest sub-regions; Logging is described as covering the forest without the same sub-region selection.

A search phrase players often use is “How do I place the robot terminal in the Moonlit Forest?” The practical distinction is campsite versus resource node: use a valid campsite area, not the ore deposit itself.
How to deploy and assign robots
- Place the terminal in the relevant homestead or Moonlit Forest campsite location.
- Interact with the terminal and add a robot from your inventory.
- Select the inserted robot and choose Assign.
- Choose an available supported task: a homestead job, a mining sub-region, or logging, depending on the robot and location.
- Return to the terminal storage to collect completed output. To recover a robot’s inventory or make it available for another assignment, select Recall.
The fan guide reports that forest robots keep working while the player is away. Treat that as reported behavior rather than a guaranteed schedule or cycle time; no verified deposit interval is established.

Gathering assignments may separate crops, flowers, ranching tasks, sunflowers, seeds and cicada products. The guide also relays player reports that Gathering Robots can harvest GMAX crop blocks before mutation rolls. This is a community-reported risk, not an official guarantee; if preserving a GMAX block matters to you, keep automation away from it.

- Robot inserted: verify the robot appears in the terminal rather than remaining in your inventory.
- Assignment selected: check that the robot has an available job or mining region assigned.
- Correct role and location: use Gathering for documented homestead tasks, Mining for forest sub-regions, and Logging for forest logging.
- Current build behavior: Early Access builds had robot bugs, and the fan guide notes that some stalls and wrong-harvest behavior were fixed in patches. The official Steam news feed’s Version 1.09.7731 entry, dated September 23, 2026, does not itself mention Robot Terminal mechanics, so it does not confirm the current status of every robot issue.
The terminal’s maximum robot count, storage limit, deposit schedule, and universal ore yield are not established in the reviewed sources. Inspect the live terminal interface for limits and current options. The exact blueprint price is likewise not verified; check Zerine’s current shop stock rather than relying on a quoted price.
Robot Terminal is not the Mini Sentry Bot
The Robot Terminal is a crafting automation station for assigning resource-gathering robots. The Mini Sentry Bot is a separate combat item that the fan guide describes as being sold at the Exploration Club. If you are looking for automatic farming, search for the Robot Terminal rather than the combat gadget.
Version notes
The dedicated fan guide identifies its coverage as game version 1.0 and says it was last checked August 19, 2026, while noting that some details draw on Early Access reports. The latest official feed entry examined here is Version 1.09.7731, dated September 23, 2026; that entry does not confirm a change to robot mechanics.
