NYT Strands puzzle #705 for February 6, 2026, uses the theme clue “Let’s face it.” The spangram is FEATURES; the other answers are BROWS, CHEEKS, EYES, FOREHEAD, HAIRLINE, MOUTH, and NOSE.

Hints for Strands #705

The theme points to things people notice about someone’s face and appearance. If you want to solve the grid yourself before seeing every answer, use these hints in order:

  1. Theme clue: “Let’s face it.”
  2. Broader hint: Among the first things people will notice about you.
  3. Spangram: It has eight letters and names the theme category.
  4. Opening letter pairs: BR, FE, HA, CH, FO, EY, MO, and NO.

Words that can unlock in-game hints include BROKE, SWORE, THERE, SHUT, MATE, HERO, and RAISIN. The spangram runs from the bottom of the board in the third column to the top in the fourth column.

The answers group facial features and visible parts of the head. Finding FEATURES ties the set together; the remaining words identify the individual features.

How the hints fit the puzzle

The clue “Let’s face it” is a wordplay prompt: the answers are features associated with the face or head. The extra hint narrows the category to visible traits people may notice first. The opening pairs can help locate each word without revealing its full path through the grid.

Strands is a daily NYT word game played on the NYT Games website or app. Each puzzle uses a six-by-eight letter grid, themed answers, and a spangram that captures the theme.
