Can you use Stingray Karaoke on a TV or with a phone as a microphone?
Support is platform-specific. For the Samsung Smart TV setup covered in Stingray’s support instructions, a phone running SmartThings can be used as a wireless microphone. The same instructions say external plug-in microphones are incompatible with that app. This applies to the documented Samsung setup only; it should not be assumed to describe every TV, Stingray app, or karaoke device. Check the guide for supported devices and its setup steps before relying on a particular microphone arrangement. Samsung TV and SmartThings setup guide

Is Stingray Karaoke the same as a Singing Machine?
No. Stingray Karaoke is a content service, while Singing Machine is a line of physical karaoke hardware in Stingray’s consumer catalog. The company’s support materials distinguish using karaoke with Singing Machine devices from using it on supported TVs or streaming devices. Do not assume that every Singing Machine model works with every Stingray app or that app features are identical across devices; verify compatibility for the specific model and service. What should you check before choosing an access option?
- Device support: Confirm your exact TV, streaming device, phone, or Singing Machine model is supported for the service you intend to use.
- Country and billing: Check the price, trial, renewal, and billing terms presented for your country and purchase platform.
- Microphone setup: Follow instructions specific to your platform; microphone compatibility on one setup does not establish compatibility on another.
- Service versus hardware: Decide whether you need the karaoke catalog, a physical karaoke machine, or both, and check model-level compatibility before purchasing equipment.
