There are two relevant meanings of “confirmed”: Nintendo announced the planned date during the Direct on April 2, then confirmed the console was actually available on June 5. Its June 5 launch-day update said Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World were available that day.

In its April 2, 2025 U.S. announcement, Nintendo of America set suggested retail prices of $449.99 for the console and $499.99 for a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle. Those are historical U.S. launch-announcement prices, not current price guidance or prices for other countries.
